For all of the positives (of which of course there were many) I just straight up didn't like David Moyes for the last 3 years of his tenure here.

For that reason i'm chuffed.

Nice one!

You wasn't being serious. was you?

semi final V United have you forgot UNT played a 2nd team ok great day we won on pens but it was a very weakened unt team we played! and that was 0-0 the exciting pens! The final was a one sided affair even after our early goal the right hand side was exploited! Hibbert & Osman had a mare DM never changed it!

From Wigan forum:
"one of the Things I did not like about the Martinez way of playing was the way we would let the opposition stroll right up to our six yard box without making a challenge sometimes or the way we kept every one Back at corners and free kicks near the box, this usually meant that when the ball was Cleared it would come straight back at us and we would still be defending"

sounds familiar.

I suppose the £60m difference in wage bills isn't factored in to your thinking there mate.

Nowhere near £60m different.

Yes Arsenal spent well over £80m more than Everton last season on wages.

Wage bills by top 8 last season

Manchester United - £162m
Manchester City - £202m
Chelsea - £176m
Arsenal - £143m
Tottenham - £90m
Everton -£62m
Liverpool - £131m

Nobody else was within 12 points of this group. Even the likes of Villa (£70m)

Martinez and Moyes have gone over the benefits of defending with every man back at corners. Most of the teams in the league do it this way. Taking a one off corner into consideration its frustrating when the ball flies out and the opposition pick it up and fans moan, but what about or corner record over all? In the league I can't remember us conceding too many. The goals saved from this approach probably far outway the goals that could be scored by a one man or two man break from a corner. They almost certainly do otherwise two of the top premier league managers wouldn't take his approach.

That's simply not true.

2 years for me tbh. Just thought our squad was capable of more last season.

Done a fantastic job for us but tbh i just think he was finally broken with pissing into the wind on a shoestring budget and losing his best players.

Lost him optimism which atm is what RM has in spades.

A refreshing amount of decisiveness on display. Moyes would still be deciding whether to put on jeans or trousers to meet with the agents. Tbh these players could be the worst cloggers in history, with a past history of actual war crimes, but at least we can find that out in preseason, rather than the first Saturday in September.

Yeah - it's gonna be odd without the worry of a deadline day panic!

Is right, Roberto!

I've watched a few of that video series mate and i think it's pure bumhole, just properly terrible, for that reason i'm out.

Good football based on muscular strength. Osman, pienaar, Baines, Mirallas, Coleman.!!! Ok mate. Sigh. Guess Fellaini and vic are pretty meaty but our best stuff comes from skilful little fellas
