He's at heart a bottler Moyes. United have made a monumental error appointing him.

Agreed, it will make a pleasant change not to see the same old same old. Incidentally I have no objection to United's mistake, it will be interesting to see Moyes cope with the pressures Old Trafford brings and how they react to his decision making

Do you honestly believe Everton will be in a better position in the next few years under Martinez then we were under Moyes?

And if United win the league and we lose to the s***e? Nothings guaranteed mate.

Does that make you one of these fans who fell for the bull**** lets get to 40 points and finishing 7th is success?

Well im ****in sick of that im afraid. I know we cant compete at the top end, but that didnt stop Wigan and Swansea winning honours this season.

With our players it was a disgrace we done nothing last season and I hold Moyes and his negativity solely responsible for that, negative sub after negative sub trying to hold onto the win got right on my tits. Most of the time we only drew cos of it.

RM wants honours and he wants CL football. Im happy to dream with him for the time being.

Ill go the match naked if Man U win the league. And id rather go to Anfield and lose and give it a go than go there trying not to get beat and embarrass ourselves

Never in a million years would Moyes have done something as audacious as that.

The thing is, where he's gone to now they expect boldness from a manager. I really couldn't put up another manager less suited to that club than Moyes. He might get a few decent results along the way with them, but unless he develops a different outlook than he has he will fail badly there. Maybe having the extra quality to go out and keep on pushing forward will embolden him, it probably will there more often than he did here. But on crucial occasions against top quality opposition when United's quality is met or even surpassed he'll revert to playing safe, and he'll be slaughtered for it.

As I say, a leopard cant change its spots.

to be fair, my wife is a big united supporter,so I see quite a bit of them on the telly. especially in the champions league, they are quite a negative team already....

Haha, a disgrace that we finished 6th in the league. I dread to think how you'll react if we slip out of the top 10 with Martinez this year. Get a grip on reality.

Moyes was a bottler, always blew it in the big games, Wembley, play off finals, semi final against Chelsea at GP...

When Wigan beat City at wembley and Zabaleta got sent off in the 84th minute...how many people think Moyes would have thrown everything at them to get the win in 90? I dont, cos i watched him for 11 years and he was a negative **** more interested in not getting beat. I thought at the time, Moyes would have gone for extra time and probably pens...we will never know seeing as though we were arse raped all over goodison by the attacking football wigan played that day. I remember the interview Moyes done afterwards (ive just tried to find it but couldnt) and he said something like 'the way they used their wingers to nulify our fullbacks, i couldnt do anything to stop it' and i thought at the time well **** me if you cant do anything about it then theres **** all we can do from the stands is there!

In the FA cup RM had gone for it from the 1st whistle to the last. They seen their opportunity and took it and thats the kind of mentality im looking forward to seeing this season.

Semi Final v United, Liverpool FA Cup 4th round, Chelsea away FA Cup 4th round. All massive games which we won.

This go for it from the first minute until the last attitude you advocate is ridiculous, and it's not even true. I've saw Wigan sit back under Martinez plenty of times and rightly so, or you'll end up like Blackpool that year they were in the league.

well said some of our fanbase sound like the RS when Rodgers came in with all the ****e going weak at the knee's for Robbie's philospheeeee ffs lads lets see how he does first yes he plays lovely football but he got his side RELEGATED winning a trophy doesnt mean everything Mcleish won a cup would you lads have him? I think Martinez is a great guy and I hope he has alot of success with us but lets stop pretending moyes was some chain around our neck like pulis was to stoke as we massively over achieved with the budget that Redcoat Kenwright had given him over the years, add to that the majority of his signings were top notch and how he has developed them is impressive- Baines, felliani, jags, coleman, arteta, lescott etc.

Martinez will have to rebuild the team in his image the quality of transfers he brings in will show IMO where abouts we will likely finish
