Computer games.

Now he’s got to be seen playing it and liking it because otherwise he’ll hear about it for the next few years

My other half bought me an expansion for Final Fantasy 14 a few years back. Shadowbringers. Based on me loving Final Fantasy.

Few problems though. One, I didn't have the base game for the expansion. Two, I had no interest whatsoever in playing the game. So it was effectively a totally useless gift, but I pretended to play it every so often to not hurt her feelings.

I think it's still unopened hidden somewhere.

EDIT: Just checked, it was actually called Heavensward.

Escape from Tarkov is still the most intense nerve-racking game I've ever played, it's hard to describe how tense it can be but imagine an ultra hardcore version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R/Metro in a multiplayer environment (minus the monsters) with a vaguely similar raid structure to The Division. It's like the Dark Souls of shooters i guess in terms of learning curve/death to success ratio. Quite amazed it's blowing up as big as it has done in the past 2 months given it's quite a niche market.

It also has the most satisfying gunplay of any shooter ever imo. Russians devs seem to excel in this genre for some reason.

Watching The Witcher Netflix show has got me back playing the 3rd game on a new save. It's made my brother go buy it as well since he's never played the Witcher games. ~£14 for the GOTY edition on XB1 is a absolute bargain. Wouldn't know it was nearly 5 years old going by the graphics.

Well that's a shame because its a great game which has got better with every expansion. Especially for FF fans because of returning bosses, e.g. :

Anyone else getting continually crushed by Gyuobu Oniwa in Sekiro? I thought I was doing well up to this point after picking this up again.
You have to be aggressive, don't try to run around. He doesn't have much posture so time your deflections right and keep hitting him where you can.

Going to get it the weekend mate any good?

Yeah its pretty good - really difficult though, doesn’t seem to have an easier setting! Lock on/Block/attack fighting mechanics and levelling up system. Once you kind of figure it out you’ll be swinging around ninja’ing baddies or just avoiding them when you can. Can be one of those that you just have to stop before volleying the controller when you get to a tough boss. The Chained Ogre is a tricky one to get past. I don’t feel like ive got very far though.

I hated Dark Souls but don’t mind this one.
