Computer games.

Yeah I have to say, I would of preferred a third person view myself....or like deus ex a bit of both ..but I guess it's going for immersion. Still, it looks epic and I cant wait.

I fear all games until they’re released these days.
Far too many games looking immense in ore release footage and not being the same when released.

And I’m just crap at FPS games. Find them hard to get immersed in. Which is weird when you think about it.

Not at all, Fps isn't for everyone, it started from on PC, it's far easier to play an fps with a mouse n keyboard, controllers (I find) are nigh on impossible to aim very well with, it's why the newer fps all have an auto aim built in on some level...which kind of takes away the feeling of immersion. I much prefer an fps with an m n k and consoles are deffo better with games in 3rd person. Most of my faves on console are generally in the mould of Uncharted, The last of us...Deus ex.. console is deffo the best way to play them.

I'm the same - burnout is a big factor as well because 99% of all games are first-person and 99% of those are repetitive/crap.

That said, if I have faith in any company to deliver a first-person RPG and have it be outstanding, it'd be CD Projekt Red.

... this is unexpectedly good. They don't appear to have butchered it... yet.

It's still episodic but at least encouraging.

Looks boss this.

Visuals and Audio are spot-on.

As long as they (Square) keep it relatively close to the original set up (Materia system, Turn Based, Storyline and characters) I'm in.

Materia is in, but will be done in a different way. Turn based is completely gone - it's an action game. Storyline will be tweaked significantly but stay on broadly the same path. Only thing largely the same is the characters.

I can't express my disappointment enough that this isn't a turn based RPG. They smashed it out of the park with the ATB and Materia system, it didn't need to be changed. For that reason, I'm still very very wary of this remake, but it's at least looking decent so far.

EDIT: Oh, and it's episodic - the 'whole' game released in 2020 will be based in Midgar with follow up chapters to come. Which is... incredibly disappointing.

Have you played that recently? Harder than anything ever.
I played it through twice years ago, my retro gaming tends to be multiplayer N64 and the odd PC game. Everything else I don't know about going back to and viewing it having recently played infinitely more powerful machines. I loved that game so much though, rockstar doing a game of one of my ultimate cult movies was basically like crack to me
