Computer games.

Did they ever fix the RROD before they stopped producing 360's ? I went through five of them and every single one got the RROD, worst designed console ever... which is a shame because other than it breaking all the time it was actually decent.
The slim recentish one was faultless I think, was it called the elite ?? It was slightly more angular than the rounded bent look of the first model and it was ace.

Not sure but the Elite's had the issue as well but with a lower failure rate. I think the original console had over 50% failure rate which is mind boggling, in a normal world/market that would usually bury a product but gamers are a special breed when it comes to brand loyalty.

Yeah I guess it was the slim then. Your were right though on brand loyalty in the gamer section....saying that though Microsoft had a massive fracure regarding the red ring, eventually fixing or replacing every console affected due to gamers en mass complaining...the gaming community back then was slow to complain, it was almost a new power..nowadays though, if we get so much of a sniff of a less than satisfactory ending....
Well you would think the very world is ending...

Think I’m gonna buy an Xbox 360.

Dunno why.
Go for it. I bought one a couple of weeks ago. I'd pretty much given up hope of Far Cry Classic ever becoming backwards compatible for the XB1, plus there were a pile of other (very cheap) games I was interested in that aren't BC. Got the Star Wars edition (with R2D2 sound efffects), in very good condition :p

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever played in an Xbox ever so intrigued now these are way down in price.

Brilliant console, it's basically the ps4 for that generation for the multi plats,
Just have to mention Dirt 2.0, bloomin eck its beautiful, hard to get to grips with on a controller but it's great fun !! Taken today off just to play it..LOVING IT !!

CEX has the ‘e’ ones for like £55.

I hope the PS2 was you number one console ever because it’s mine!
As they're all in used condition these days, it's definitely worth getting one in an actual shop so you can get a proper look (also makes taking it back easier if there's a problem). There's always cheaper options online, but a bit of a lottery as to what the thing will look like when it comes rattling to your door. I bought mine from an independent computer place and it was £59 for the console, wireless controller, power lead/brick, Hdmi lead, and Kinect. Remember to check what size hard drive it has, if any - I think mine is 250/320. As 360 games are only on DVDs, I can install a fair chunk on there.

Yeah I’ve had bad experiences buying old consoles on eBay. (And a couple of great ones too).

But always prefer getting from an actual shop.

Picked up a PS3 for the kids to play. Always had an Xbox since PS2 days and missed out on all the exclusives on PS3, they're dirt cheap now. Spent about 100 quid for the super slim with all the little big planets, uncharteds, god of wars, heavy rain, last of us, beyond 2 souls and loads more. Enjoying it so far and the kids love LBP. I bought it from CEX. Most of the games as well but some were cheaper on music magpie or ebay

I've had my current modded 360 for over 10 years now and had no issues - Although it rarely gets switched on nowadays (apart from for drunken Guitar Hero battles)

Had to post this, a real rally driver player on dirt rally...holy mother of God, he is ace but clearly the game is incredibly realistic for him to transfer his skills this way.

Funny thing is although his run looks awesome he's miles off world record times, a good 15 seconds or so if I remember correctly and part of the reason for that is that he's driving realistically rather than driving it like a 'gamer'... as realistic as Dirt is in some areas if you want the fastest times you have to drive in an unrealistic manor and exploit flaws in the physics.
