It's called the backlash. The controls can occasionally feel a bit ponderous but I'll take that any day over the unrealistically light and inconsequential feel of games like Assassins Creed.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the shooting mechanic as far as I can tell. Gets a bit tricky if you're not maintaining your weapon but that's built in and spinning round on horseback while reloading and shooting a bolt action rifle is going to be a bit more involved and slower than emptying an Uzi on PUBG.

Still not finished RDR2 but I'm getting there. Keep getting distracted by the gameworld and off doing other stuff.

I don't have an issue with the shooting mechanic but I do think the general control system is poor. Overly complicated and stuff like mapping the interact and draw weapon to the same button is maddening. The number of times I've pulled a gun on someone when trying to talk to them. Especially problematic when trying to talk to a policeman! I've also punched my horse countless times when trying to interact with it.

Never had this issue on the Xbox. As long as your gun is holstered then pressing Left Trigger alone won't draw it.

I honestly think people who have issues with the shooting are one of two things:

1 - crap at it so it automatically becomes ‘not very good’
2 - idiots for not maintaining their guns.

Finally playing this and its pretty decent so far.nice big open world.only gripe being it us very similar to the other far cry games.

Had a good few days playing Killing Floor 2, love their Xmas reskin. Quite enjoy shooting the heads off human sized gingerbread men.

Oh god yeah, it's a lot worse. They've slowed it all down to a crawl. Obviously, the world looks spectacular, but they need to evolve the gameplay. Any other games publisher would get slaughtered for such basic gameplay and clunky controls.

Bethesda seem to get away with it.

The amount of times I had to remind my mates to do this as they complained about “not having the good guns” has been mad.

I finished it and wasn't impressed by it. I dunno, I just expected a lot more from it. Every shootout felt the same. It's an 8/10 for me and that's because of the world and parts of the story (not the ending).

I'm getting much more enjoyment out of God of War.

Uninstalled Fallout 76.

My god what an absolute abortion of a game and likely the death of the franchise. Looking forward to the new Obsidian game however.

Tell you what, XBox have really stepped up their “GamePass” games roster lately.

PES19, Mortal Kombat X, Sniper Elite 4, Forza Horizon 4, Doom 2016, Wolfenstien The New Order & PUBG.

Not to mention some great indie games like Ashen, >Observer_, Outlast, Abzu & Hellblade.

Deffo worth the subscription fee at the moment.

It's a pound for the first month, going to sign up later, plenty to go at during the lull between Xmas and New Year.
