The spell casting mechanics are actually a lot easier than Witcher 2. I'm finding them easy because of that fact. The whole interface is an improvement. I'm enjoying it too.

Levelling up is actually something you have to work at. Most RPGs you can go from level 1 to 10 within a short time, this one is a builder.

am guessing you can only level up through quests? which makes it harder but makes more sense than shooting things over and over to level up! also encourages you to do side quests..

the cut scenes/dialogue scenes do go on a bit tho, struggling with these especially as is don't know anything about the characters or whats going on generally!

You can still gain experience fighting monsters in the wild but your experience does level up a lot more slowly so doing quests does speed it up. I've done a few quests and side quests plus explored white orchard and I'm still only level 2.

I'm about to move on and complete the griffin quest as I've exhausted all explorations.

Knowing the story does help yeah.

Wanted to get into that, but I am not sure if using X360 controller is a smart idea, as I am pretty sure majority of people use really expensive steering wheels (such as G27). That game became really professional lately.

99% of users use Wheel and Pedals, it really is the only way to play it. Having said that there are some people who have had some limited success using a Xbox 360 joypad, realistically though you're going to creamed by wheel users. The G27 is the most popular wheel but its considered one of the 'cheap' wheels believe it or not. Lots of users spend a fortune on their setups. For example i know someone who just spent £4200 buying a Leo Bodnar Sim Steering 2 setup which professional racing teams use in their simulators. The user base is very hardcore but very friendly and very helpful.

It's a great tool for learning to race as well, one of my friends won the online Mazda Cup series and was flown off to America to compete in a knockout competition for a real life seat in the MX5 Playboy cup !

Also lots of real life motorsport stars use it, drivers from Indycar, Nascar, BTCC, Aussie V8, Blancpain GT3 etc often train on it due to the mm accuracy of the tracks, every single tree, sign etc is positioned correctly so they can use their real life braking markers etc. Every single bump thats there in real life you can feel through the FFB.

This video does good job of showing you how accurate they are, its pretty nuts.

I sound like a right fanboy but there is no other racing game which comes close to it, Assetto Corsa has great physics but everything else about it sucks. iRacing just kills it in all areas !

Has anyone had a go on Black Mesa? It's still early access but as a half life fan I would like to know if it's worth buying when released.

You mean the PC remake of half life 1 which has been out for 2 years ?

Is it coming out on consoles ? If so then it should be top of your list.

Half life and half life 2 are the best single player fps games ever !

It's on early access on steam now for PC, so I guess they are upgrading it. I game on PC, don't think it's out for consoles.
