Any minecraft masters on here?
I started playing recently so I could play it with my 6yo son, who loves it - think it's great from that POV.
Anyhow, I've hit a bit of a plateau in that I've got the basics under my belt - (e.g. mined the [Poor language removed] out of the place, built an enchantment table, built a nether portal etc), but I'm finding myself walking the earth in search of things like villages and strongholds which seem to be part of the game's progression? Doing my swede in tbh, plodding around the place for an age. When I do find something, like a village, it's 1000 miles away from my main base. Do people just build loads of different bases over the earth?
I get the sandbox aspect of the game - I could just sit down and build a replica of Goodison Park if I felt like it. But there also seems to be a progressive aspect to it that I'm still figuring out. I've delayed getting involved with the Nether as it feels like there is still stuff to discover in the overworld.
