Computer games.

So much they specially made a new one didn't they?

Yes, which was a dreadful collection of cut scenes which did nothing to rectify it.

Thought Mass Effect one was great, two was OK, but three was Call of Duty corridor shooting and poor all round. The ending simply showed that they had no idea where they were going with the story all along, which explains the massive deterioration in quality as the series progressed.

Just picked up a PS3 with Uncharted 1/2/3, Resistance 2/3, and Killzone 2/3... all for £180. Bargain.
A bit late in the day, but being a 360 owner for the last 6 years it now gives me a chance to play all those great PS3 exclusives.

You will love the Uncharted's.

Number 2 would be in my top 5 games ever.

I played Mass Effect 1 and just found it a bit inaccessible

Was hugely impressed with all the dialogue though and the fact it made you feel like you were really in a massive space system. I can't imagine how long it would take to visit all the planets and citadels on offer

Something i must add about 'the last of us' is that it has the best acting, or voice talent, in a game i'v ever played. The script is good too, no macho corny lines. It helps make the characters believable....Now im just waiting for AC the black flag to come in the post

i found the game really frustrating...and a bit repetitive! but i seem to be in the minority...maybe i should give it another go

Had a go on it the other day, agree with you. Repetitive gameplay, all style, little substance. Yes, the story is great, as are the characters, but I could go and watch any half-decent film and get the same experience without the crap stealth and shoot sections ad nauseum.

Games aren't movies, seems that has been forgotten lately.

I loved Mass Effect 2, so did everyone else i thought. Apparently not the people in this thread!

Not at all, thought it was a good game, but a tad overrated. Shooting mechanics weren't all they could be, and the story seemed tagged on compared to the first - as in it was forced sequel that came about after the success of the original rather than an organic development.

Mass Effect 3 is the one I thought was an outright mediocre game all round, but I may be biased as I hate shooters in general - there's been thousands of them over the last decade and it's just got too much.

Ive decided to get the Playstation 3 for Heavy rain and Last of us, what other games should I get? I already have a an xbox so just looking for playstation games only, played Uncharted already.

oh good, thought i might be missing something!

thing is i liked 'heavy rain' which is similar with the film thing, but doesnt have the same frustration that 'the last of us' had

Heavy Rain was what it was - an interactive movie. It didn't pretend to be much else.

But it's when these "games" pretend to be an actual gameplay experience that it becomes something frustrating. There's a game called "Beyond: Two Souls" which is the same - it's an interactive movie, yet you'll have people saying it's the best game they've ever played.

It isn't. It has terrible mechanics, crap camera angles etc. People con themselves into thinking it's a great "game" because they're emotionally invested into the movie experience.

The best example I can give is this - imagine you were watching Titanic, and every now and again you had to press a button on your control pad to progress the story. Would that make it a great game? Of course not. Yet the story and cinematic direction would remain valid.

Hmmm. Thought better of you Tubes.

Having a go on it is very different to actually playing it. It's a quite phenomenal game.
