Computer games.

I played Mass Effect 1 and just found it a bit inaccessible

Was hugely impressed with all the dialogue though and the fact it made you feel like you were really in a massive space system. I can't imagine how long it would take to visit all the planets and citadels on offer

There is a bit too much filler in ME1.. all that stuff about visiting planets is a bit meh. ME2 is better in every aspect except possibly they over-simplified the weapon upgrades. Haven't played ME3 yet but will do soon.

ME3 is the best out of the three in terms of the overall game. They just ruined it with the awful ending.

You will love the Uncharted's.

Number 2 would be in my top 5 games ever.

Well, I just finished Uncharted #1. I can see how everyone raved about it when it was first released because the gameworld it creates is very impressive, but to be honest I found that there was far too many repetitive shooting sections. Would have preferred more exploration/puzzle.. it's supposed to be an adventure game, after all. The shootouts just feel like filler in this case to flesh out the length of the main campaign. And the really improbable thing is the enemies spawn in supposedly deep underground sections that are supposed to be unexplored for centuries!

7/10 for me.

I hear #2 is suppose to be better.

But then I hold all 3D adventure games by the standard set in PoP:Sands of Time, which I think is still one of the finest games ever made even though it is two generations old now.

Did someone say classic racers?

Stunt Car Racer was truely unique
F1 Grand Prix (just a shame that Crammond then treated it as a cash cow and spent the next 10+ years rewriting it)
Outrun (arcade original). The new reimage versions are great, too.
Super Off Road
F-Zero SNES, F-Zero X N64, F-Zero GX Gamecube were all incredible. GX still has to be the racing game that conveys the highest sense of speed that I have ever seen
Not a classic, but I personally loved "Test Drive 2: The Duel" too.. pitting Porsche vs Ferrari in a race across America, avoiding the cops along the way.

Never got on with Mario Kart, though.. I could never get the hand of the powersliding around the corners that the good players seemed to be able to do at will.

Thanks, Just brought Deus Ex: Human Revolution for £4

Cool.. yeah probably several more I've missed, but trying to compile a list made me realise that I was right to be a 360 owner for the majority of this generation, we got awesome exclusives for the majority of the console's life.

Gears of War series is definitely my favourite series on the 360. The first game in particular was the "killer app" that made you sit up and go "bloody wow", it was just amazing in every way. 2&3 evolved the repetoire, but diluted the tight gameplay of the first.
ME1&2
Halo 3/Reach/4
Bioshock was exclusive for a long time, one of the best-of-generation games
The Forza series had the best balance of realism vs accessibility
The Dance Central games for Kinnect were actually pretty awesome
Left4Dead 1/2 - Insanely pace zombiefest. Designed from the ground up to be played online coop makes this the greatest online series ever made.

Only play PC stuff, but my all time favs:
1) Half-Life (the original from 1998). Once did a HL marathon with a friend, knocked it out in one run.
2) Carmageddon 2. 1 was fun but to kill a cow at 1/KPH was stupid, 2 was fun çause you could torture peds to death b), 2000 was mere a race game without any carnal filth.
3) Command & Conquer, the original and Red Alert 1. Addictive, both of them.
4) Grand Prix 2. Crammond's masterpiece. Had the 1998 (think it was 1998) add-on with Schumacher at Ferrari and Hakkinen in the silver McLaren. Christ that was good gameplay!
5) FIFA. No that crappy thing from 1993. With the fake names and where you could have the ref running after you over the entire pitch because he was to give you a card.

All those games were the reason I chose 360 along with be able to talk online whether I'm in a game or not. But those games now seem to have gone boring, didn't buy the last gears of war, halo is dead and Mass Effect is finished. I'm now considering switching to the PS4 when I buy a next gen console

Hmmm. Thought better of you Tubes.

Having a go on it is very different to actually playing it. It's a quite phenomenal game.

It's not though, it's a phenomenal interactive movie, but a very rigid, repetitive game.

If you honestly think that gameplay in The Last of Us is phenomenal, then you're easily pleased.

Bioshock Infinite has the same issues - amazing scenery, superbly told story, wonderful characters, but stiff, frustrating gameplay. Both great experiences, both lacklustre actual games.

same with drake as well, the lack of open world can make it all seem easy

Yeah, same here.
You gotta pick what's going to offer you the best bang for your buck. Otherwise we'd all have Neo-Geos in the attic.
