Computer games.

Tried FM26 a couple of times now.

It's beyond terrible. They've made an absolute dog's dinner of it. The most damning thing though is that there are so many outright bad design choices before you even get to the bugs.
It’s one of the most baffling releases I can think of, they have totally destroyed the base experience.

Completely ignored the core fm player, I’m not sure what research they have done or who thought this was the best way forward but it’s a total shitshow.

Just loads of really strange decisions.

Like if you're looking at a list of your staff it doesn't list their attributes at the side of the name as FM previously did. You have to click on them, see them on a pop up, then click back to go to the list and move onto the next one. It makes getting a quick oversight of the staff incredibly slow and laborious.

There seems to be no way of customising shortlist categories now - your stuck with the predefined options all of which have something necessary missing. Scouting is still completely vague in how it actually works...or doesn't.

There are loads of things like that which, as you say, is just baffling. Especially when there is a community around the game including YouTube sorts who would have bent over backwards to get on board early and run through it from a player's perspective - probably at zero, or near enough zero, cost.

That's before outright gamebreaking stuff like tactics not saving or loading in correctly and random crashes. Glitches like that will always happen.

In terms of disastrous launches I didn't think it was possible for anyone to steal Cities Skylines 2 crown so quickly but SI have absolutely nailed it.

Anno Pax is out on Thursday

Looks interesting but I've always been very sceptical of 'big' review sites like IGN. I'd suspect they have one eye on the advertising revenue from the people whose games they review.

Given I've been whinging about FM26 it's very noticeable that IGN have held off reviewing it despite it being on full release for a while now. Seems like they know a good review would be laughable but a kicking would be a problem for some reason.

Got it spot on mate, very sadly. The one UI for all thing has blown my head - no issue with the mobile and console versions, not really played them but i understand the need, but to force the same UI on all versions ( and it doesn’t even suit consoles which I find hysterical) is insane.

I’ve Still got people trying to tell me it’s good, I just need to get used to it and the new match engine is great blah blah blah.

Just pure copium, it’s fubar and unplayable for me - good luck to anyone having a go and trying.

I’ve gone back to an old journeyman FM23 save, and it’s light years better than this disaster.

It’s anno, all they had to do is make anno 1800 in Rome and it’s an instant 9/10 and luckily that’s exactly what they’ve done.

I bought and it’s fantastic, I’ve also had zero bugs so far.

it'll probably be 2028/2029 before we get to play ES6, I have 0 faith in Emil Pagliarulo nowadays but at least he isn't head writer anymore, he's lead design director instead 😬

I mean I have no faith in Todd Howard Inc overall - it will be a broken mess on release, as all their games have been for the entirety of their existence. People should stop buying unfinished slop for a hilariously huge amount of money, but fanboys will be fanboys.
Clair Obscur should win all the awards. Such an incredible game
GOTY for sure. Amazing to have BG3 and E33 in recent times, both are great experiences in their own right.
