apparently its not really multiplayer. You cant meet other players. Someone went to the same planet to meet, but they did not see eachother.

Wouldn't want to really to be fair. The combat is clunky to say the least.
I would say I'm enjoying it so far but am pretty sure I'll be bored within a month.
Thought it would have very little to keep players playing it. They had one big selling point, which was basically extremely impressive from a technical standpoint but doesn't make a good game.

Agreed. I'm defo wow'd by the sheer size. But the 'story' if you can call it that isn't exactly gripping.
As I say, reckon I'll trade in sooner rather than later but it's not bad. Just not great by a bloody mile.

That was what I was afraid of. Everyone was raving about it, I allowed myself to get caught up in the hype. Looks like the survival aspect has been toned down quite a bit and it looks to be a big grind fest.
Still, I will be loading it up tomorrow when it finally releases on PC and play the heck out of it. Even if I get 40 hours out of it, it is still good value for the money.
Why is it pathetic? The guy made some allusions to you being able to see other people (which obviously hasn't made the cut), but at no point has the studio ever promised any sort of MMO aspect.

Literally bored me to sleep. Like literally fell asleep after playing for a couple of hours. There's nothing to do, walking in real time means you are walking in a straight line and avoiding falling in a hole for 10 minutes. Then you have to turn round and do it again for the way back!
So yeah, just a pretty sim type game. Very little to do, just a walking simulator on a different planet.

Different strokes for different folks. I am pretty sure you would find Elite: Dangerous boring as sin as well, but it is a game I love. I imagine NMS will be in the same vein.

I am not sure why you are beating on this. I am fairly confident that you, like @Ashtonian, would not enjoy Elite: Dangerous (even though Elite has multiplayer, you can go long long stretches without running into another player). Some people like the vastness of these games and some don't.
Opinions are like butt-holes. Everyone has one and they all stink.
