Uhh, that ad also has distances and directions pop up all over the place, and pokeball's (are they called that?) popping out of thin air into the players hand.

Yeah, its an ad. The game is an 'Augmented Reality' game, that uses the phones camera and overlays stuff onto the screen.

Maybe soon with Holo-lens though......

Was playing this bored on a walk yesterday. Pretty addictive.

Pokemon go is absolutely brilliant.

Can't think of many games that get you out and about, exercising and sightseeing, whilst also being addictive and fun. It's definitely reawakened the pokemon obsession for those who grew up with it.

What type of tablet?

If it has an Intel Atom cpu, then you are out of luck. I have an ASUS Zenfone 2 with packs Intel (with its x86 architecture, not ARM) and even though it is running Android, Pokemon Go is completely incompatible with it.

Just checked on a few of the Pokemon gyms on my way to work this morning and it's absolutely mental that people are hitting around level 20 already.

that, and that i wanna be able to stop whenever i want, but i have no idea when it last saved and there's no way to check. last time i was ready for bed and it was a quiet moment so i risked turning it off, only to find the next time i had to start from a checkpoint at least half-hour's play before.

stupid stupid concept.

the other utterly stupid thing is that i can't show my fairer half the beguiling first hour's play, as it means i'd have to overwrite my progress...it's not possible to have more than one (unknown) save point.

whoever thought this was a good idea needs to be shot with some firebolts.

Slight problem with playing pokemon go in dovecot. Internet dropped trying to catch a Golbat, didn't register I caught it.

Oh and some random scally may have been shouting grass at me thinking I was filming something.

So yeah, no more pokemon go round where I live lol
