Listening to this...

... and I think it's time to break out FF7 for the billionth time.

Soundtrack to that game is just through the roof in quality. Tells a story on its own.

Have you ever listened to the 'Voices of the Lifestream' album?

It's a compilation of covers and remixes of the FFVII soundtrack. It's a bit hit or miss, but some of them are great!

Had an opticians appointment yesterday, and noticed that there was a nearby small retro games shop

Had a look and they had a Sega Saturn, with a controller and three games on sale for £47.50

Been thinking about whether to get it or not

Does anyone here have a Saturn?

Would you recommend any particular games for it?

I know Sega Rally and Virtua Fighter are good, but after that I'm a bit unsure

Oh ill definitely buy it mate, i was a Xbox 360 guy so i never played the games but always wanted too.
But next gen so far is the Remaster Generation haha, becoming a little bit boring now.

I used to have a Saturn mate.

Not aged well.

But I'm about to buy one in eBay anyway.

Oh and @Mikey_Fitzgerald the must have games are:

Daytona USA
Nights into Dream
Pandemonium
Destruction Derby

And so on.

They just don't look particularly good these days.

Oh wait. Hang on. I meant the Dreamcast. The Saturn, while technically the most powerful machine of its generation (though very hard to exploit the extra power it had) it was a bit naff and got beaten up by everything (even the Commodore CD32 IIRC!!!! Ok, well maybe not that bad, but who remembers Commodore's ads for the CD32.........."It takes SEGA AGES to be this good"

Considering a Dreamcast too. Never ever played on one back then.

I remember sports games being by far better on the Dreamcast. Plus all the Sega arcade titles. And then the quirky releases. Quite a few brill games on that list (Soul Reaver 2: Legacy of Kain was one of my favorites)

Shenmue was amazing at the time. Not sure how it will have aged but I loved playing it then.

I had an Amiga cd32 it remains life's biggest disappointment..
