I only played one of those on the PS2, GTA 3 maybe? Enjoyed it, and I'm later entries are great, but this is a work of art.Better series than the GTA ones IMHO.
A lot of RPGs are not for everybody. With a few exceptions I don't like western ones (BG3, Exp 33). Sure Skyrim is good, I just don't to play as someone's right arm.Hi I’m KaiserEFC and I’m the only person in the world who didn’t like Expedition 33
I'm many years too late to this party, but I've spent about 20 hours with Red Dead Redemption II over the last couple of weeks, and it's absolutely incredible. I've not been this absorbed in, and impressed by a game since probably Metal Gear Solid. Work of art.
Greatest ever is a stretch honestly, a lot of things are lacking and janky - I think the biggest achievement of the game is the environment and care the game has received from a very small dev team and the product they've put out. Some of the jank would've been made fun of ages ago if it was made by another studio, the UI is atrocious for some things, and a lot of other small things, but they're easy to overlook given the context.I have about 3-4 hours left. Not to disparage the game, its extremely good, fun to play it has a unique story and people should buy it. At the minimum it should be nominated for GOTY. However this greatest RPG ever talk, uhh no. There are a few flaws + QOL things its missing and thanks mostly to the budget can be a little rough around the edges.
It can be improved![]()
It’s not the strongest RPG overall - but it's a fantastic turn-based RPG, it’s definitely one of my favourites.I have about 3-4 hours left. Anyone checked this out yet? Meant to be a Skyrim/Assassin's Creed hybrid based on pirates.

There are mimes for enemies, french clothes, talking marionettes are their version of moggles. Its French as %$#@ but in a good way. Initally they had a fantasy London setting and it wouldn't have been as good.Is Clair Obscur a bit weird in that way that French games sometimes are if you're not French? I was going to give it a go based on the positive reviews but then saw what some of the enemies looked like and that big thing that takes you across the water and just thought "nah".
I need to play through it again.. I remember spending ages searching the snowy mountains searching for the white horse!!There are rumours circulating about a Red Dead Redemption 2 'remaster' for PS5 - but if there's one game that doesn't need it, it's RDR2. In my opinion, even seven years on, it's still the best-looking game graphically. I would much prefer a GTA 4 remaster for modern consoles, Simply upscaling it to 4K at 60 FPS would be more than enough, it’s the one Rockstar title that's practically unplayable on PlayStation, unless of course you still own a ps3.
