Computer games.

PGA 2K21 is coming out in August on current gen consoles but no word on whether it will be released for PS5/XboxSX. It is made by HB Studios who made The Golf Club 2019 which is pretty good in terms of gameplay. As for boxing there is a boxing game in development called eSports Boxing Club but little is known about it. Eddie Hearn recently hinted at something about a new Fight Night game but there is nothing concrete on that.

I've missed the golf franchise.. since Tiger became a wrong un.

That looks boss that golf game, serious hours of multi player offline on Tiger Woods back in the day, surprised ea never made another one after the Mcilroy ps4 disaster.

Fight night champion wasn't bad, the story mode was decent too, pity a real top drawer one hasn't been developed.

The ps4 was poor for decent sports sims.

What is their goal for such an event?

is it not to make people go WOW look at how next level this new machine is? As they failed miserably if so IMO

apart from some of ratchet n clank and HZD, graphic wise they all looked like they could have been ps4 trailers and even a couple of them looked like they could’ve come out on a ps3.

Also yeah my first thought was it’s a router. Although apart from NES SNES and GC I’ve never really liked the design of any console very much and am not overly arsed.

Overall I'm happy with that event.

The graphics leap won't be huge at this stage of the next generation. Early games of a new generation never take full advantage of the capabilities for a start. Also, games have already got pretty realistic so there is only so much further they can go currently. We also didn't see a huge amount of proper in game footage so it is hard to judge vs current gen.

For an example of where they could end up in a couple of years watch the Unreal Engine demo that came out last month (I think).

To be fair mate, this is meant to be a huge leap in graphical terms, this gen.
They're showcasing Ray Tracing which is only available to the current nvidia lineup on a AMD GPU with a true next gen SSD.
I'm a PC player these days but always have a PS for their unreal exclusives.
Looking at what these machines are capable of they, if the stories are to be believed, will come close to matching my 9900K, 2080Ti rig I have at home.
That thing cost me close to 3 grand, I'd be amazed if these new consoles come close however, if they deliver on their promises, they won't be far off. That can only be a good thing for the market considering most of my PC brethren whine about games being designed around console capabilities.

I know, I was just talking about this stage of the process and that we shouldn't expect to be blown away immediately. Especially given the fact that graphics on the PS4/Xbox One are already really good. Launch/early games never take advantage of the full power of the consoles and it is usually a couple of years until they are making the most of it. That's why I posted the Unreal 5 Demo running on a PS5. Pretty sure they said that it would be a few years until we see games with that level of graphics but they are a big leap from what the current gen can do.

No it was prebuilt.

That's true mate but certain opinions have been exasperated by the PS3's CPU or "the cell" it used at the time. PC and Console gaming has got closer and closer for developers since that generation. Sony got too clever for their own good. Developers took years to truly get to grips with it, the finest example being "The Last Of Us" of when they nailed it. Naughty Dog never normally get it wrong though, to play Devil's advocate.

"During that phase, everybody was obsessed with the Cell architecture of the PlayStation 3, and that was really quite a tough thing for people to get hold of,”

Since then it's all been massively brought into line so you should, if they try, see far closer to end of the line graphical prowess from developers at the beginnning of a console's cycle.

Still in shock here @MarcelsGoat ...I feel like @Dylan and myself have failed you somehow.

You were coached by the best, became top goal scorer and everything...but then, when it came to taking the penalty in the 95th minute to win the league, you kept your head down; only to see @chicoazul shank it off the outside of the post, just for the lulz.

Devastated...I need a rest.
