I found out the spoiler for tlou. I was getting bits and pieces. Like I wish these people with SJW like I wish they were self aware enough to be very nuanced and not so on the nose. It’s bad story writing. I don’t care whatever message people but out there but god stop being so amateurish and obvious.

yeah, by fan boys. Fact is, they are both wildy successful and make bags of money for both companies. The Xbox One is a great bit of kit, and the centralized stance Microsoft are taking with it and Windows is fantastic IMO. And Gamepass is awesome. Just as an FYI, for all those even remotely interested in the upcoming Flight Simulator, it will be available on Gamepass.
Microsoft just also announced gamepass subscriber numbers for the first time recently.....10 million recurring subs.......not a bad moneymaker at all!

Not a XBox fan, my family have always been PS people, but more quality systems can only be a good thing.

Oh, and FM 2020 is on Gamepass.
Ooh nice. Might have to get (back) on that. Wonder if I can get another £1 month!

I mentioned this about Watchmen. You can discuss racism, sexism and societal issues in intelligent ways. Unfortunately you have some delusional tits that have no grasp on reality and project their distorted visions into their creative works. You also have glutonous leeches like Anita Sarkesian getting their hands on every AAA title they can.

This won’t go away until publishers do actual background checks into their employees and stop caving to shareholders, activists and advertisers. Thankfully I was never invested in TLOU.

Well articulated

I don't know if you played Uncharted 1-3, but they were written by a lady called Amy Hennig. Elena and Chloe were so well written. Amy was seen off by Druckmann and Sarkeesian half way through Uncharted 4, it was then delayed so they could buff the Nadine character, then followed Lost Legacy and TLOU DLC where Ellie's (who was what? 14!?) sexuality was shoehorned into the narrative.

Most gamers will happily play a game that is good because it's good, but most gamers (or any person tbh) will instinctively reject the idea that they need to be overtly lectured or "educated". It's a weird approach and Battlefield V was a case where diversity was placed front and centre. The game was supposed to sell 14m units, after the train wreck PR they reduced that to 8m, and initial figures were 7m, you could (broadly) deduce that forcing diversity for the sake of diversity cost them $420m...

Then they turned around and blamed their customer-base for being ist, phobic etc etc, something Druckmann as already done on his insta.

I'm just curious about all this from an economics point of view though, why do board members / shareholders not push back? all they are interested in is revenue. Not being diverse really doesn't appear to damage a brand to the same extent, so I really can't work out what the business model is.

The gaming community is a hot mess of racism, homophobia and sexism. One of the vilest, self entitled communities around by far.

If a game is good, it's good. The fact that people feel the need to complain about these things on fictional media is hilarious to me.

Get shot 3 times? Easy, hide behind a crate for 10 seconds until your health magically grows back, but don't forget "THERE WERE NO BLACK WOMEN IN WW1 MY IMMERSION IS RUINED! SJW's RUINING GAMING WAAAAHHH!"

Utter virgins.

Exactly to a less articulate and more catchy line ‘get woke go broke’ as they say. Ye I seen that on Druckmann. I thought he was a good developer but his mind is poisoned I see by this all too often sjw lecture bug. Like I have no doubt there’s sexist bigoted people out there that hate it for them reasons they are paranoid about. But there’s a majority that just don’t care or are very socially justice conscious but they still don’t like the obviousness and been lectured when they just want good art.

well people are willing to to overlook them things on the gameplay side of things because it elevates the game play the immersion won’t break. You get why that has to be. But when you want to enjoy good art from the story that’s infused in it you get completely throne out of with when you feel you are being lectured. When art is compromised over pretentiousness it kills it not just in video games.

Like if it was a fun bizarre game that didn’t take itself seriously you can have a black female soldier that shoots bullets from her nipples. No one would care.

That’s like saying loot boxes aren’t gambling because a “few weirdos” have addictive personalities. I get what you mean when you say people overboard in some cases, but that is a small minority ( a loud one to be fair). You can’t tell me that games like Andromeda weren’t massively effected because some “utter virgins” thought it would be a good idea to abandon all narrative and art direction to make an “inclusive” title.

If it had been a boy she was running round the abandoned mall with would you still be calling that "shoehorning" it into the narrative? Or would you just accept it as it's "normal".

I just think it's an over reaction to say that a game that has XYZ in it only has that because of an agenda.

I've avoided TLOU2 spoilers so can't comment on those or any of the other games you've mentioned as I haven't played them.
