Computer games.

I know the Xbox One is generally derided (especially amongst PS4 owners) but the value for money of the Game Pass is really exceptional

I own both consoles but haven't fired up the Xbox for a few months - Got the Ultimate Game Pass today for £1 and the selection of free games is ace - Playing Streets of Rage 4 at the moment but also downloaded Innocence: A Plague Tale, Dead Cells, Totally Reliable Delivery Service, The Outer Worlds, The Outer Wilds, Untitled Goose Game, Superhot and Hellblade:Senua's Sacrifice

Dread to think how much they would have cost me on the PS Store
The Outer Wilds is superb.
One of the most original games I’ve played in a while!

With my workload reduced and more time on my hands, I've returned to being a 17-year old saddo and started up a new FIFA "world".

I've started it in the 1998/99 season, using the teams in that PL season, and deciding promotion from the Championship via a mini-league between the real-life top 8 teams of 1998/99 div 1.

In the interests of neutrality, there is no Man City (they can go whistle, even if they have made the last five years a bit more peaceful for us than they might have been!). Also, the big dawgs have been somewhat re-jigged to relfect how things stood in 1998.

Still, Man Utd have all the gold (Lukaku and Kane up front = Cole and Sheringham), while Liverpool are without Alison (so Mignolet = dodgy James) or any of the front three. They are 13th right now and can't buy an away win, but sadly in no danger of relegation. We're currently 7th and drawing a lot.... just like the real 98/99 season.

All the rest are a mish-mash of rejects, but reflect how the teams were. For instance, Coventry have a good defence (Shane Duffy is a BEAST at the end of set pieces) but little up front, Wimbledon are full of dirty buggers with no pace and Jordan Ayew partnering Glenn Murray up front. And Blackburn have Sigurdsson, who represents a formerly great midfield gone to pot.... coincidence or otherwise they are bottom after 19 games :)

At the moment Sheff Wed are leading. Batshuayi is tearing up the league with Perez getting a lot of assists. Leeds are second after a Christmas surge, having been in the bottom three early doors. There's only like 7 points separating 1st from 8th though, and Middlesbrough (yes, Middlesbrough!) were top at Christmas, so this is going to be a cracker.

Suffice to say, it is far more entertaining than any real-world football I've witnessed recently.

This was probably the worst generation of consoles ever. Game Pass was such a smart move by Microsoft after they were blown out of the water by PS4 on launch. Definitely worth it for one dollar here and there when they have those deals. Still crazy to me that I “technically” payed 1 dollar to completely finish Outer Worlds.

None of that actually makes sense the way you have worked the teams out!

Love Game Pass so much

Yeah sorry, too much sugar and jumping on the bed. Good job it's only virtual I guess. It's more of a draft where I take 3-4 rotation players from strong teams (e.g. Batshuayi) or players from strong teams that weren't in the 98/99 prem.

That's how I ended up having a 30-goal Clinton Morrison at Coventry on 07 in my original FIFA world.

You don't want to know how much youth I wasted on this, you really don't. It's going to take every ounce of self-discipline not to let it disrupt my life to the same degree...

There was a thing where you could convert your Xbox Live to game pass free of charge, I bought 3 years of Live and converted it to Ultimate Game Pass with Live as well.

Think you could have done it fella when you first signed up to Game pass for £1.

Anyone ever done the link up from pc to Xbox?

I have now the dlc for Destiny 2 for free but only on Steam. I prefer playing on the Xbox for the graphics / wireless controller

I noticed there was some sort of streaming thing for pc / Xbox so curious how it works and if there is any issues

yeah, by fan boys. Fact is, they are both wildy successful and make bags of money for both companies. The Xbox One is a great bit of kit, and the centralized stance Microsoft are taking with it and Windows is fantastic IMO. And Gamepass is awesome. Just as an FYI, for all those even remotely interested in the upcoming Flight Simulator, it will be available on Gamepass.
Microsoft just also announced gamepass subscriber numbers for the first time recently.....10 million recurring subs.......not a bad moneymaker at all!

Not at all the worst generation of console. Just the generation with the least innovation (except Nintendo, as usual.....) It makes sense that consoles are now just PC hardware. And makes even more sense to unify. which MS is forcing with the Xbox and PC.
