Computer games.

Sony announcing a bunch of info about PS5 today at 4pm. Can watch here:

Doesn't sound like we will see the console or hear much about games but it will reveal what's under the hood
This isn't really a presentation for the layman. What I gathered:
  • 825GB SSD
  • AMD GPU
    • supports Ray Tracing
    • backwards compatibility with PS4 games (almost all at launch)
    • similar but not equal to upcoming AMD PC cards
  • AMD Zen 2 CPU
  • 16GB GDDR6 RAM
  • New 3D audio Tempest Engine based on AMD GPU
    • not reliant on Dolby Atmos hardware support/compatibility
    • Headphone audio is the gold standard
    • Virtual surround sound for TV speakers
    • Users' hearing different, can pick presets to get optimal 3D sound

Warone is a laugh, prob best Battle Royale yet. It's skill based match making is excellent, joined a server with two mates who are legitimately boss at FPS and people we were going up against were all pretty legit... then played a couple of rounds with my two potato aim mates and we got matches against absolute wasters.

Yeah it wasn't quite what I expected. I checked out pretty quickly

Wow well done, best I finished is 7th. I'm not very good so I hide for most of it and wait for someone to find me which always makes me jump haha
Yeah I get edgy as hell when the gas centres too far from me so I have to move away from an area I've become comfortable in.
Helped myself out by putting a sniper in my load out. Assault rifles are all over the place so I can grab a load out, keep the sniper and pick my AR back up. Also a big fan of closing doors. Gives me that extra clue that someone's closing on me

The game is terrible from a sound and optimisation POV.

We have been playing mostly Plunder, so its reasonably fun, my PC cant handle it so trying to kill people with 2 FPS isnt working out for me, but we managed a 3rd last night!

The sounds are mad - the gunshots in particular can be heard from absolutely anywhere, yet footsteps and the like are like walking on carpet.

Had 2 wins and a whole load of losses, both wins whilst playing with two mates. Be astonished if a team ever wins without communicating over a headset, quite tactical but i'm really enjoying it. It has a lot of flaws but for a first release it's pretty impressive.

Never played FM in my life, downloaded it an hour ago, already overwhelmed and confused, uninstalled.
I've been playing for over a decade now. It's an incredible game if you can get stuck into it, but I can only imagine how overwhelming it is for a new player. It has a massive learning curve and is a huge timesink. Can easily spend 20 hours on pre season alone.
