Computer games.

Death Stranding is probably the best game I’ve ever played. The attention to detail is mind blowing. I’ve not actually played it. Just want to trigger Tubey.

Funny thing is you had Death agreeing with you about it being his best game too, leaping at somebody else fanboying hard about it, before he realised the white text and deleted his post lol lol lol

It isn't, and I didn't mean that - I meant that because of the status of the game, it was already basically pre-nominated for any and all award shows.

It would have had to have been offensively bad not to be on the list.

It’s almost like you’re determined to hate a game you’ve never played with no wiggle room to change your opinion. It’s a little weird.

How can you trigger him he would love if it was a great game he has no bias at all. Where would you get such an idea. He has a Solid Snake tattoo n everything.

It has to win GOTY for sure. I’ve a sneaking suspicion it will against the odds.

It really is one of those games you don't need to play to see it is bad. I've watched hours of it, fascinated by how bad it is.

Some - indeed most - games you can't get a feel for the controls and general interaction without playing it. This isn't one of those. The interaction is minimal and tedious.

Why watch hours of someone else playing it and not just try it for yourself?

Because it costs money. I'm not going to waste my time and money on something I know to be terrible. I was interested in it ahead of release and watching streams and reviews of it was research ahead of purchase. This isn't a game on anything like Origin Access/Game Pass, so it's a premium full priced purchase to make.

Happy if others enjoy it somehow - Death for example is perfectly entitled to fanboy over the game - but I have my own opinion on it. I'd have loved the game to be decent, as it'd be bizarre to want any game to be bad; but my view this is nowhere near decent.

Just seems odd to invest so much time into something you dislike.

Well it was like watching a dull movie, where you keep watching assuming something will happen soon, but it never does - instead, random weird stuff happens, someone cries blood then it ends.

I watch a lot of streams and play a lot of games. I wouldn't say it was wasted time as it was fascinating to me how a game that bad got so much hype solely due to who made it, and it made me recall Legend's 'The Great Space Race' on the ZX Spectrum, Peter Molyneux, Will Wright etc. etc.

So I dislike Death Stranding, but it's going to be an interesting piece of gaming history in terms of how people continue to fall to hype culture. It doesn't matter how many No Man's Sky, Anthem, Fallout 76 and, yes, Death Stranding-type releases happen, people still pre-order and fanboy solely on the idea of a game rather than the reality. That's interesting to me.

How can you say people are falling for anything if you've never actually tested the game?

This game is exactly the same as the old marmite debate: love it or hate it.

Personally I've never tasted marmite so I neither love nor hate it. I've seen marmite, I've been around people eating it, I've even given it a sniff but as I've never tasted I can't say it's tasty or disgusting.

I appreciate anyone that likes/dislikes a game but I just can't take anyone seriously that can't be arsed to play it.
