Computer games.

Finally got the Hotas I've been stalking for months. I have a best buy credit card so get rewards for their store and they price match sold and shipped by Amazon prices.
$69.99 normally
$45.49 on Amazon matched
$35 of rewards money
Total cost $11 something.
Happy days.
Just be warned, it isn't the most accurate, it doesn't have the fancy Hall effect sensors, but it more than does the job.

Are you using it on just PS4 or PC as well? If you do use it on the PC, you can download s program called vjoy and set the curved so it does become much more accurate.

Think just ps4 for now. Don't run actual games on my PC as it now lives in a cupboard and cries when I make the GPU work for even something as little as star trek online.

The loathing I have for this game compared to the love I have for the Enemy Unknown is frightening.

Got everything wrong.

I thought the first X-Com (PS3) was superb. Really absorbing and addictive with fantastic mechanics. Will DL the sequel when it goes on PS Plus - any pointers as to why you didn't rate it?

They can't have screwed it up that bad, surely?

The whole thing has a similar yet changed feel. For example, you still get RNG rolls on shots hitting etc. but they feel grossly unfair and totally unbalanced, right from the off. I loved the RNG in Enemy Unknown, but here you will miss simple shots, then be one shot killed in return and completely murder your mission in one turn. Frequently.

Not only that, there's turn count limits - which you think would add to the tension and be good, but combined with the RNG it just creates frustration, because the game is balanced to constantly have you have just enough time to complete a mission, so if you miss one or two dice rolls in a row you may as well reset.

To be blunt, it's not fun, at all. It's actually stressful. Granted I haven't played it in a while and there's a chance it has been tweaked/improved, but my experience with it was one of pure irritation. It's a strategy game purely about luck instead of strategy - ridiculous.

It has been changed and the new (not included in PS+) expansion War of the Chosen added some great stuff and fixed even more. Your criticisms were accurate for how I remember the game being close to launch but it's much improved now. Does need the DLC to really be fun though.
