Computer games.

I haven't tried UFC 3 but I do have UFC 2.

It's... a strange one. It's good in that it does an effective job of differentiating the striking and ground game, with very different mechanics for both. But it's also a bit of a mess mechanically too and isn't something you can pick up, play and enjoy. The ground game/submissions in particular are insanely complicated and takes some time to get your head around.

I wouldn't recommend it full price, but UFC 2 is £7.50 on the PS Plus store now - for that price it's worth a bash.
Ta mate . I had a feeling the ground game would be a bit difficult

true that , the jarg goals that go against me are ridiculous. Keeping a clean sheet is Rare

I just find the games a chore.

Career mode has not really changed for years (I mean great, this year they put the contract negotiation scenes in, which would be great if you didnt have to pick one of 9 manager faces who will look nothing like any of its player base).

EA has been awful for years in not bothering to put proper AI into the game. They work purely off animations and use screwy ones to screw the player over in an attempt to make games "competitive".

I never feel like I am playing the sport. There are ways around it but they take you so far out of the sport itself.

I play Fifa on some really slow settings (Slow play, 10 minute halves, sliders reduced to fit into the time scale) and you don't half see some of the issues the game has playing that way.

Also..Why cant I create a team?? Or create a league with the womens teams? Or move my Madden team to wherever I want and call them whatever I want with whatever uniforms I want?

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

right need a tiny bi of advice.

Ghost recon downloaded in steam doesn't launch at all. However ghost recon downloaded in Uplay does work. Now if i like the game, i have steam credit to buy it but not real money to buy it in uplay.

In simple terms, how do i buy the game in steam but launch it in Uplay?
You can't, to put it bluntly. Two separate entities, no crossover - at least not in that way.
Uhmm, tubes.....I don't think that is accurate.

For me to play Far Cry in Steam, I click 'play' then it launches Uplay and launches the game from there. One purchase in steam, never made a Uplay purchase, but it all works fine, in a convoluted manner.......

I may have read the question wrong, but I thought he meant is there a way of buying the game in Steam and launching it in uPlay with no use of Steam, because Steam doesn't allow him to launch the game.

As far as I'm aware, if you buy a game in Steam, you have to use Steam to launch it, at least initially. So he can't boot up uPlay and launch a game he bought from Steam. That's why I said "at least not in that way".

Ahh right! So we are both on the same page.....just confusion over what the heck he/she/it (trying to be inclusive) means.

Quick google shows this:

there are several posts of user around internet(reddit, Ubisoft forum and so on) complaining about those things.

There are two main and constant problems:

  • Can't download/update a Uplay Game
  • Can't open a Uplay Game
Every single forum, reddit post will tell you to:

  1. Open as administrator
  2. Reinstal the Game
  3. Reinstal Uplay
  4. Reinstal Dx
  5. Port foward
  6. Add Uplay+Game on trusted programs in Windows/Anti-Virus
  7. Close background application.
None of them will work.

If you get luck and receive support they will tell you to do the same again, but for no reason don't follow their advice to disable all windows services from msconfig because that may mess your computer and you will be unable to start windows again.

The only way to find what is really happening is investigating your computer.
You can check the Uplay logs here

Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\logs

(

And search google for the exact problem.

You can use the windows Resource Monitor to check the applications. And Windows Event Viewerfor some anomaly.

Sadly, most of the time it was a problem with Ubisoft
Can't download/update a Uplay Game:

It was caused, most of the time, for a Ubisoft Server refusing to send a package, just one package (network log)

I found 4 possible solutions:

  • Wait
  • Change your IP, if your ISP allows that.
  • Try another ISP if you have two or more at home, you can use your mobile internet to download that last package.
  • Download it on a friend, or find a fried with the game downloaded/updated and copy to yours.
Can't open a Uplay Game

It could be caused by needing some third party software, but mostly by Uplay failing to verify it as yours or its dependencies (preventing you to play it), it may vary from game.

In this case I found only two solutions:

  • Wait (Uplay updates sometimes fix that, but not always)
  • Format PC (try in another computer first)
Don't forget to check Uplay logs before trying any drastic measure.

The new God of War comes out tomorrow (Friday). Critics are loving it, has a 95/100 critic score on metacritic.
Haven't played the previous games but I'm probably gonna pick it up. Last I checked Amazon UK ran out of stock...

I now own a asus geoforce 1070ti Cerberus graphics card.

My motherboard is 7 years old and my processor is a i5 2400 so will have to wait to buy their upgrades before I can enjoy grass density.
