Computer games.

Been spending too much time on my own recently, so I'm looking at getting a games console. Trouble is I have a short attention span so never really get into any games that require any sort of dedication or thought. I bought an X Box years ago and played San Andreas, that just resulted in me walking round and hitting people. Is the any recommendations for which console and games that might appeal?

PS4.

Pick up GTA5 to get you started. Would need to know what other types of games you like or think you'd like before recommending others, but definitely a PS4.

Long time since I played Ratchet and Clank, had a few hours at it today, such an easy pick up and play game, great fun. Not sure I'll get through it before my playstation plus trial expires but I'm guessing it stays on my system if I do subscribe.
Yes mate. I generally don't download the games each month, just add them to my library. Then whenever you want it, just download it and play.

4 y/o son likes to sit at my pc and play with mouse and change the calendar. Let him do it a little while ago and I've got Champ 01/02 running. So I tell him it's a game I play and let him click "Continue Game" a couple of time then the news thing starts flashing so I tell him he can click that and I explain the news story as he clicks it. After we're done with that he asks "But where's the game?". "That's the game" got a very baffled look from him.

I believe the point is almost that you’re meant to die. Then learn as you keep getting slightly further each time. But keep on dying.

Not much fun if you ask me but I sort of get the challenge of it all.

I know @Tubey ’gets’ games like this and Dark Souls but as I say, don’t seem much fun to me.

It's a shame, yet understandable, that this 'meme' about Dark Souls/Bloodborne exists. Because they're not unfairly difficult games. There's very little RNG in them, so much so that it's very possible to beat the entire thing without getting hit or without levelling up once.

Far harder games than them exist. The original Rayman on PS1, for example. 10x harder than Dark Souls.

Half of Dark Souls' difficulty is getting over being intimidated by its' reputation in the first place. I had that problem; now I can almost speedrun the thing. Not because I'm a master gamer; it's because it's honestly not that difficult.

I stopped playing Bloodbourne because it was too hard.

I finished DS3 but damn that was difficult. My friend helped me through a lot of it.

I chose to play as a sorcerer which I felt like is a heavy handicap in the early game, you run out of mana to use spells so easily.

By the end of the game I was a walking beast.

I remember my friend telling me how difficult the dragon boss was, I walked in and 4 shot that thing in about 15 seconds!
