People need to realize how little football Coleman has played. He was a Gaelic footballer growing up. He's probably played less football than anyone else in the premiership.

He's a project as a result. Not a bad thing to have, which is why I think he needs more time in a given position. We need to figure out if he's a better RB than RM.

Wow I'm shocked at how many people have dismissed Coleman. He was our Young Player of the Year last season and with fantastic performances to back it up. Not to mention he was nominated for PFA Young Player of the Year alongside Walcott and Bale. He's had a rough season because of injuries, it takes time to get back into form. If he's playing terribly around this time next year then start slating him.

I don't think many of want to kick him out of the team - he's still absolutely valuable. But it's not about form at this point - it's about ideas. It wasn't just this year that he hit a wall - he started doing it last year too. A number of us are wondering if RB isn't a better position for him as he just may not have the creativity to play RM. That has nothing to do with form, and everything to do with ability. He's not a lost cause, as I've said before, he's a project.

Not defensively, offense has been his issue:
1) Continues to dribble into bad alleys
2) Crossing has been poor
3) Creativity/through balls have been poor
4) Just no ideas out on the right

With all of that said, his injuries this year have been trying as folks have pointed out. Not ready to completely give up on him yet, but he's behind the pecking order of Drenthe and Gueye for me right now.

Wish we could see him at RB.
This. I was with the majority who thought he was ace when he first burst on the scene but at times this season he's looked like a pub player. Could it be that he was shining on sheer enthusiasm at first. Wouldn't be the first limited player to do so. Sammy Lee played for England and he was a fcuking pub player.

Loads of endevour but lacking in quality inmidfeild for me, i can see him being a squad player going on to be honest. I think he is far from deserving or proving that he is nailed on for right back but time will tell, i think that may be his best route to establishing himself in the team.

Just move him to Rb ffs. Moyes bricking it as usual with a youngster and putting them somewhere where they have less responsibilities..

Part of the problem is that defenders are now familiar with Coleman. Last year they weren't prepared for his aggressive, fast dribbling style. Now they're used to him and don't allow him to knock it past them any more. Let's face it, he's pretty much a one-trick pony when it comes to attack. He'll need to develop more variation in his attack if he wants to stay at right mid.

I'm not sold on him as a right back either. He's not a great defender and his bombing runs forward would force Baines to stay back too often (as well as making the right midfielder expend a lot of energy tracking back to cover).

Right now he's a squad player for me but he's still young and relatively inexperienced so could very well end up taking a starting spot permanently.
