Coleman to Man Utd nonsense in the Daily Mirror

Is Seamus considered "home-grown" by the PL and European football rules (though it's questionable whether United will be seeing European football next season at least)?

A home-grown player is defined as "one who, irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to the Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21)."

So sadly not.

£15million for Seamus Coleman?

Certain The Mirror are just doing this now to troll Everton fans after getting the Baines story horribly wrong and all the stick they took on social media.

United fans love Rafael and will fume if anyone comes in to potentially replace him, especially when left back is where they need players since Evra is looking to leave and nobody else is looking good enough to step up.

Do they really rate raphael???

The ones I know of think he's the best RB in the league.

Seemed to me as a pure attacker Like a duracel bunny wind him up and tell him to run down the right, positionally and defensively I cant see It myself??

Fabio any good?

Don't think anyone on earth is shocked to see these rumours, just like no one will be shocked to see the upcoming Barkley rumours that will start in the summer, probably followed by rumours about McCarthy and Stones over the next 6 months too, it's just lazy journalism and not based on anything besides guesswork and not fit for tomorrows chippy paper, Coleman will get linked with Arsenal again too, stones with city and united and probably the rs, chelsea will get linked with ross as will united and probably arsenal and the rs, its badly predictable, mccarthy with united and arsenal etc etc etc

More media magic and more to follow, we know it will never end. Does this amount to tapping up? Suppose not as a link to Man U cannot be shown. Another space filler for the Red Rag, making stories up. We should have a poll on who will be the next player to be "featured".

Seeing as Rafael has been one of United's better players this year, I doubt this. Add in the fact that United will probably be down two centre backs, a left back and require a midfield overhaul; I don't think Coleman would be on the agenda.

The same happened with Fellaini and Baines last summer, long before they made their first bid, the papers were full of stories about them moving to United

I can see something similar (papers running stories), unsettle Coleman with the story and turn the head of his agent (agents make more money from transfers V/S contract extensions)

The only thing that worries me a bit is that Coleman might want to make a big money move one day in order to remove the “60K player” tag

The man who wrote this article is David McDonnell , who intil recently was banned from Jones's press conferences because he was leaking team news.

If moyes wanted to leak stuff he'd choose a journo that he's on friendly terms on

That's just poor jounalism. ManUtd don't even need him as they already got Rafael who is younger and just as talented as Coleman. Coleman is just more consistent and in great form at the moment. There is no reason for them to be looking at a RB when they only have an ageing Evra and Buttner who apparently is not highly rated by Moyes.

What a joke of a story, United cant even say for sure who the manager will be in the summer so why would they be in advanced talks with another club for a player? Total nonsense. Besides that price, as someone said before if we turned down that offer we got for Baines, who is a better player but much older this offer wont come close to getting Coleman
