Cliques aren't bad per se, if there were good cliques that's fine. Like the work hard cliques, or the score loads of goals clique for strikers

Silva spoke last week about wanting the English language to be the language used within the dressing room. He thought this was key for squad cohesion and to avoid cliques. Silva thought certain players weren’t making sufficient effort to learn the lingo.

I thought this was strange to go public with.

Is it possible that all is not well in the camp?

If Fridays abysmal team performance goes by it certainly looks the case.

nothing wrong with what he said, all players need to speak English or learn English as they playing in the prem. how else they understand each other on the pitch or communicate to the ref

Not hard to imagine a spanish/portugese speaking group, a French speaking clique, and a badly dressed english speaking clique. Not a slight, just a reflection of our squad make up.

You'd suspect that every manager would want their players to learn the language to a suitable level simply to ensure that instructions were adequately understood.

Nobody would want anybody to have misunderstanding due to something being lost in translation, so perhaps that's what Silva is alluding to with his comments.

Then there's the whole squad unity aspect as well as you did see how it became a 'sore point' in Real between Bale and the others players and management.
