CLATTENBERG RETURNS

Is there a case to say just ignore the barsteward and don't let the game be about him? Don't get me wrong I fumed as much as anyone on that day and I haven't watched it again since..by all means if he does give a dodgy decision against us, I would expect the fume and decibel level to be turned up to 11 a la Spinal Tap. Clattenburg does not need any oxygen for publicity so should we be the ones to light the torch under him? Must admit though after a pre match bevy I might not be of this opinion when he walks on to the pitch....

After the derby he said to Moyes "you'll never get a pen against the mighty reds"...

From someone who was in the tunnel when it was said, very trustworthy too.

His actual words were "If you think your getting a penalty against Liverpool, in the last minute, you have another think coming"

We will let him know that he's not welcome. That's a given.

Beyond that, I really hope that the game doesn't end up being about him. It shouldn't be. It should be about securing three points against tough and determined opponents. My greatest fear is this : a controversial decision goes against us. Goodison explodes with righteous anti-Clattenburg anger. And in this overheated atmosphere, players lose their focus. Instead of playing their way back into the game as they did against Fulham, they get distracted and make poor decisions. Of course none of that might happen. My point is, just from a footballing point of view, Clattenburg being on the pitch is the last thing we need in a big game like this.

Hope Clangerberg swerves this match

An angry Goodison typically gets behind the team more.

All I know is he'd better have a good, fair match.

Anything less and the Premier League will look stupid once again for allowing him Goodison to begin with.

Oh ffs

I know I have blue tinted eyes but it seems to me that the refs have been tryin to screw us over all season and now they give us this tard for a tricky home game.

I have a paranoid theory about why we get ref bummed on the reg. basically because we don't (usually) challenge for titles and we're not threatened by relegation it's easier to go against us. If a ref mistake cost utd the league or gets villa relegated they get lambasted. But with us regularly finishing somewhere between the two they can screw us as much as they want and it's only us that see it and complain and obviously these complaints fall on the death ears of the apathetic. Either that or I'm an insane conspiracy theorist.....hmmmmm.

I don't know how I could have restrained myself if I had heard that from a referee.. more so how Moyes somehow managed it - interesting how he's not taken a United league game (with Moyes as manager). You can imagine Moyes not wanting him anywhere near a Man U league game and, no doubt, getting his own way.

Twas my brother who was working at Goodison at the time, said he had never seen Moyes so angry and furious. First thing he did was go straight into the graphics room ajoined to the tunnel) and check the replays.
