RIP that man. Never knew of him but seemed like he inspired a load of you so a life worth worth living.
Anyway since I got a load of grunge and metal heads in the same place I want to ask a question: how many showers a week did you scruffy outcasts have during your teens and early twenties? Also did you hang around Quiggins trying to finger fat girls with striped tights? The utter state of you all.

Gutted about this - Soundgarden were a tremendous band (Audioslave less so)

It can't be underestimated what Soundgarden did for rock. One of the most important bands in the genre's history, coming at a time when it was dying on its arse with all the glam and hair rock of the late 80's. They essentially helped put the grit back into it, and being more mainstream than their contemporaries paved the way for the likes of Nirvana and Pearl Jam who have gone on to influence generations of musicians.

Soundgarden, his solo stuff, Temple of the Dog, and Audioslave. A career spanning over 30 years. Excellent songwriter and that voice.
