Choose Everton?

My nephews (5 and 10) have Evertonian parents, although they have split up now. I'm an Evertonian, my dad was half and half and my mum don't really care that much.

My dad never said to me, go and be a Blue or a Red. My uncles were Man U fans, my Grandparents are from Leeds and Sunderland, and I'm from Chester (not an option).

For some reason I chose Everton, and apart from 3 great seasons, it's been nothing but a nightmare, and I wish that I had either not followed footy at all, or chosen someone else. And please don't drop this old pony that in 84/85 season we were chosen to be Evertonians - we were glory hunters, I saw it happen.

God has chosen me to be an Evertonian. I chose to be an Evertonian, and it's been crap. Apart from the odd whiff of optimism it's been pretty rubbish.

Now, these 2 lads one is an Everton fan, the other one maybe a Liverpool fan, mainly because of him being called Cole, and he likes Joe Cole.

The other day I was disappointed cos I thought you should pass on your allegiences to your offspring. All we are doing is bringing them into a world of disappointment if we say follow Everton.

Yes he may have the odd shining moment, but look at being a Man U fan is like? Or Chelsea? these are people who smile more often than not. All we do is piss and moan, and that overspills into our domestic life as well. I know it does with me, and you only have to venture onto other sites to see that too.

All you American who have decided to follow Everton cos of Landon Donovan or Tim Howard, your well going to be disappointed. Everton don't do things the right way, they don't. That's the truth, and it's depressing the hell out of me, but that's a fact.

These are no demons, this is not a kneejerk reaction. This is like a woman finally getting fed up with her husbands lack of ability to satisfy her during her marriage. She deserves more, we deserve more. We ain't going to get it at Everton.

Now while you think about that, think about this.

Bill Kenwright and his friends will be more interested in how well Moyes has done in the media ****ging off ref's then he has done in his results this season.

I don't think he should go, we have played well in quite a few games, but we are always going to be missing something, always. We have had chances to address the right side of midfield and we have failed to do it. We have had chances to address the striker issue and again we have failed to do it.

When we hear Moyes telling Kenwright he doesn't think he needs anymore players, then alarm bells start ringing when we realise we have absolutely no natural right sided midfielders.

Now for me that is Everton once again letting me, you and everyone who follows them down.

They don't give you enough to satisfy, they give you enough for you to feel that there may be something good happening, but it never will. Not in my lifetime anyway, and certainly not under the stewardship of David Moyes.

Is this me resigning as an Everton fan? Of course not, I'm in a life sentence and I have to deal with it. Sometimes though I wish it was all over, because it's been like eating through a pineapple pizza just to get to the ham.

Needs the lows to appreciate the highs, kidda.

Ok lets list the highs then.

1994 beating Man U and Liverpool
1995 Winning cup final
1997? Beating Liverpool at Anfield
200? Beating Liverpool 3-0
Last season beating Man U and Chelsea

Anymore for anymore? Were looking for Highs as an Everton fan?

Its more fun then being a UTD fine, o look we won 5-0 again..boring

Do you know what, they are successful people - mainly cos they are arrogant, but they are confident. Evertonians are not confident, you only have to read what was on here before the game, people believing Newcastle were going to win.

You're secretly seething, hence the massive posts mate trying to mask it.

I applaud the evolution of the demons.

Of course I'm pissed off, but what's the point in ranting and raving without having some kind of substance behind the rants and raves? BK and TW are for them kind of zero thought levels.

I can get all worked up, but tomorrow or next week, the same thing will happen. Basically we've been on the slump since 1988 season when Colin Harvey took over. Not his fault, he's not a manager - but that's the truth. Apart from the odd cheeky snog behind the bike sheds, it's been like the ginger kid in a school of fit girls.

Semi-Final of F.A cup V Utd and
F.A cup final against Chelski....

Fastest goal in the Final ever. That is a High, despite the result.

It relative.

What is an amazing high for me might just be a shrug of the shoulders for another Evertonian.

Trophy wise in my life I've seen us win the League, FA Cup and the European Cup Winners Cup. This is a lot more than all but the top few teams in England.

Personally the 3-3 draw last week was boss. I got floods of texts of just about every English teacher I know here and countless students as well as I represent Everton for them in Korea. So I was buzzing my tits off.

Fellaini's trick on Bellamy last season made me feel good all week.

There are tons of things that I just LOVE about the blues. I honestly could not even start to list them.

I'm really hurting because we lost, but hey-ho. Next week I'll fall in love with Everton all over again.
