Anyone from Birkenhead ever try the chips and onion gravy from Chung Wah's on Grange road West (Grange mount end)? Wonderful stuff
I recall going to a chippy once on Grange Road West. I waited about 20minutes for a portion of chips, 20 frigging minutes, hence me recalling the visit. Needless to say I never went there again, it was near the far end, not the Maccys side, the other side. Dont recall the name.
Chegones is down that end, they do chips and gravy to die for. Been a customer of theres for about 15 years, they still have the same delivery guy. Hes a blue, we always discuss Everton when he drops my food off.
You do remember I've been over here for 16 years. It's highly probable that Chung Wah's doesn't exist any more. You were at the right end as maccies is the Charring cross end. I didn't check it out on any of my visits back.I recall going to a chippy once on Grange Road West. I waited about 20minutes for a portion of chips, 20 frigging minutes, hence me recalling the visit. Certainly is mate. might be different owners using the same name though. Chung wah might mean 'chippie' in Cantonese for all I know. We used to assume it was a family name and payed with a 'thanks Mrs Wah'. She just used to smile and say 'thankyou' back to us. But she might have been thinking 'belters'.
