Personally i think this was brilliant window.

Most of the city fans seem sad to let Barry go. They still seem to rate him a lot.

He's just one of those players who neutrals don't like because neutrals are plebs who watch Match of the Day sometimes and England in der pub with der lads innit. Fans of teams Barry has played for, and the managers he has played for, rate him highly. And so do I. Welcome to Everton lid.

Wigan fans seem to be reacting in a similar way to how I feel about Fellaini. Not surprised he has gone and don't have particularly ill feelings towards the player. But they are a bit annoyed at the timing of the deal as they worry the money will disappear rather than being fully reinvested.

They talk highly of McCarthy though. I didn't realise he was only 22 actually. Be interesting to see how he does.

Chelsea fans reaction mixed. They're just so spoiled and have 50 players on their books so it makes no difference, although most of them wanted to see him this season. Seem to prefer him to Ba.

"good move for him however sad i feel. Everton don't have any big CF again after Victor move. He would get plenty of game-time in Everton as opposed to us. Everton is also i big step up from Westbrom too"

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace fans are ecstatic about Cameron Jerome quite obviously

I think he's got more potential than a lot of Villans give him credit for - he's just over-ambitious on the field at times and will improve that I'm sure. Bigger problems off the pitch I think - seems to think he's Charlie Big Bananas. Still, a bargain at £750k I think. Good luck this season - I am glad Holloway is back even if he was cheeky to us last year, good character

Yes he has potential but he seems to think he's the next Messi and his attitude and behaviour off pitch stinks.

ManU fan - "Alot of talk surrounding Lukaku, and there's no doubting the lad is top class, but I think the move for McCarthy is being hugely underappreciated. Ask any United fan who isn't an idiot (there are some, honest!) who they would prefer between Fellaini or McCarthy, and most would say McCarthy. I'm a big fan of him, and a £12/13m fee is great for a player of his quality is excellent business. For me, he looks like an amalgamation of Scholes and Darren Fletcher. His composure when playing the pass is immense, and his tactical awareness is incredible for his age. You get alot of tenacity and a bit of nastiness in him too, like we got from Fletch. Fellaini is a very good player, and he probably offers us alot of the qualities we are missing, but I think McCarthy gives you all that and more. What he lacks in being a brute target man, he makes up for with phenomenal technique. Rarely dispossessed, great passer, plays a very non-British style of play. I believe Fellaini is perhaps the better player right now, but I think McCarthy is not too far off at all, and his potential is arguably alot higher. At 22, we haven't seen anywhere near his best yet. I'm looking forward to seeing him flourish at a top half PL side, and I believe he could become talismanic for Everton, more so than Fellaini was. Hope he does well!"

The only way that's true is if you're referring to how he's ginger and Scottish.

I have watched McCarthy at Wigan since he was signed and he has improved tremendously all the time.
If he plays to his full potential, which I believe he will, Felli will soon be a distant memory.
This is a great signing!

At that age he has been wrote off far too early by many

Only some delusion evertonians seem to have wrote him off.

Every pundit and fan accross the country seem to think he's brilliant with the potential to be top class.

All the doubters would be having a jizz fest over him if there was a "iniho" on the end of his name and he played for some European team!
