Our fullbacks defensively and going forward is killing us.Also midfield not strong enough.
O’Brien has done ok but not switched on enough going forward.

Frustrating as I think we’ve had more chances than them and haven’t even played that badly.

They certainly don’t deserve to be 2 up.

Pretty sure half the fan base seems to think a team with the two worst strikers in the Premier League and zero goal threat is going to magically skip on past a dozen other clubs and into the European places.

Before we have to hear about how wonderful their players are. Very beatable if you take the game to them. We haven’t. We were content to sit back, lost our best player and had no conviction to score when presented with glorious chances.

The first issue is firmly down to Moyes, the second is just bad luck, and the third is whoever sanctioned the purchase of Barry.

I do note that Gana lost his man for both goals, his legs can’t keep up with an energetic midfield like Garner and KHD can. Gana and Garner have always looked a bit awkward together, now we have to pray that Rohl suddenly stops breaking at every gentle wind and get on the pitch consistently.

All those games were away, they’ve had a couple of bad games at home but have recently taken a point at home against Arsenal with 10 men, they beat Barcelona 3-0 and beat Liverpool too.

2-0 seems incredibly harsh from the snippets i’ve been able to watch!

With the ball we are fine, it could be better but we have created chances.

Without the ball, it’s going exactly how Chelsea want. In control, bury their chances.

Iroebugnum should come on for OBrien, and while I think he’s terrible, this is probably the best game for Beto make a mark

As a team the defending was terrible. Yeah Palmer drifted from Gana but no way should he have found himself in that much space in our box.

A colossal waste of money. We're not a YTS scheme - even if Tyler Dibling suggests otherwise. Barry isn't up to it and we shouldn't be playing somebody at that stage of underdevelopment. If Dibling isn't ready - so we are told - then what makes anybody think Barry is? We've wasted the guts of 70m on them this summer. Unforgiveable.

Not sure what’s more frustrating, the defending or the finishing, approach play is very promising but still lacking quality in key areas

Yup, this is not Drogba, Essien, Ballack, Lampard Chelsea. They have better players than us, overall - why wouldn't they given the financial disparity (not to mention corruption index). But we have played right into their hands here. I don't think we can dismiss this as the "natural course of things." Today we have not done ourselves justice and have shot ourselves in the foot head.

Exactly, they have a better squad than us. To me, that doesn’t automatically mean that they’re going to win.

Evidence by the fact that they’ve not even played that well, we’ve had some awful misses and set up in a way that allows them to stroll through the middle and abuse our full backs. Why we didn’t address both full backs in summer is negligent. Signing a guy allergic to scoring was even worse
