2025/26 Charly Alcaraz

I'd forgotten about him. All very odd. He did well enough last season to suggest he'd play a part this season. Him, Aznou and Dibling are marked under the Everton x-files mystery.
What I would say - people who say they want to see Alcaraz and Dibling starting games are also the people who say we threw the cup game v Wolves because we started.. Alcaraz and Dibling.

I’m absolutely not making any case for either starting. Think Tyler has looked poor. However he’s really not been given any notable chance.

That side Moyes rolled out for the cup game against Wolves, off memory 7 changes was it? Players out of position too… that was never going to work - way too many changes and most of the players included had no minutes in the league at that point. They weren’t match fit or sharp.

I looked at the team, and it was actually not as unusual as I remember. Jake at right back, Keane and Tarks in the middle - Garner and Tim in midfield, Barry up front, McNeil on the left.. it wasn’t a wild selection but the players let us down.

Didn’t he have Coleman at LB. Travers was in too.

Will clearly be sold this summer, alongside Aznou and hopefully McNeil, although the manager thinks he's a £50m player for some reason. Probably £15-20m for the trio max. More players sold at a loss.
I can't really see how that would make any sense business wise. Aznou we can hold or loan instead of taking a loss. McNeil the same. And as Palace were about to toss $25m at us for him I think his value is somehow at least $10m to $15m. I'd never pay that in a million years but it only takes one.

On Alcaraz, well maybe he has to go at a loss to avoid him going on a free. But the idea was always to get him in because he's cheap and a $5m to $7m loss isn't the end of the world.

They soon came to their senses when they realised they'd actually need to hand over the money for him though. We were all rejoicing and calling them dumb for paying anywhere near that enough. Nobody else was in for him. I don't think we get anywhere near that amount again.

Moyes hates Aznou, and I'm sure he'd prefer a permanent move for the sake of his career. Obviously his value will have plummeted, as they usually do, since joining Everton.

Who even knows if Dibling will stay either. Bought for £40m and I highly doubt we'd even get £20m back.
