2025/26 Charly Alcaraz

The entire team makes horrible decisions it’s not a problem with any one individual. They’re not coached properly and there isn’t a strategy behind how they’re meant to be moving the ball, opening teams up and creating chances.
Coaching can only do so much. Some players are better at finding the final pass than others. Alcaraz is great at carrying ball and really bad at finding the right pass or shot. It's why he cost 12 million and not 40 million.

Weve been here before?

His big chance would be a goal, assist, and/or a motm and then hes dropped or put on the wing.

This posession focus also doesnt suit him - he looks dreadful.

As do all the other attacking players compared to fast, direct quick transitions attacking football.

Shouldnt have changed style from last season.
Zat, he couldn’t control the ball. He was awful and it’s no one’s fault but his own.

I’d like us to try coaching the team properly for once in my life is all. I see an entire team of players that don’t know what they’re meant to do with the ball. Again. For like the 6th manager in a row.

Coming up with any strategy with our full backs is extremely difficult.

Grealish, KDH and Ndiaye are all absolutely fine when we play with the ball. They have technical ability that Alcaraz doesn't have. I'd far rather play to their strengths than his.

Theyre all very very very different players than Alcaraz.

Ive said it many many many times now, he left Southampton and Flamengo due to not being good in posession based sides.

His advantages are on the transition with quick and direct play.

We played this way last season = he was exciting and a difference maker. Beto and him looked fine and goals were scored.

This season this amazing technical ability you mention has led to how many goals?

Its also been pretty boring in most games if were honest. The excitement is where one of the players takes it upon themselves to do something.
