I think if Moyes wasn’t interested in him he wouldn’t have given him as much of a run out as he has. We’d have maybe had the types of comments we had about Patterson needing to step up etc. I think Alcaraz probably surprised Moyes and I’d be amazed if we’re not looking at a way of getting the deal done. Might be good business by Everton though to avoid the automatic obligation and strike a better deal.

Alcaraz is the only player apart from Garner occasionally who can give a killer pass. His assists would have been better with more composed finishing.

my worry with that is how much better can the deal get? €15m is a snip for a player of his age and quality. if we swerve the clause and try to low ball they may swerve us and sell him on to somebody else

We have to stop being so sentimental.

I can only speak for myself and say there isnt a single sentimental feeling. Why would there. He's only been here 5 minutes and on loan.
Everything is based on what i see with my own two eyes so far. He can control a ball with ease. Run at speed with a ball with ease. Assist for goals. prob score a few if played regular. And he looks like he has that south american attitude of wanting to win.
So in terms of can we do better. If anyone has a list of half a dozen players who can do the above for the price he is then please share it. Or better still drop it off to the club.

Now Doucoure has gone it opens up that 10 role. Hopefully he starts in that position today. I’ve no doubt we’ll see the best of him next season if Moyes plays him there consistently.

Think it’s almost certainly Harrison right and Ndiaye left so Alcaraz central in his best position behind Beto. Those two seem on the same wavelength so let’s see if they’re productive again today.

Maybe the whole thing with Moyes is a negotiation tactic. I might be reaching but I think he rates him and wants to retain him. If he saw the pitch too much we violated the clause too early and had to buy. We’ve been past that for some time. If you display him only here and there, even though you rate him, the home club gets the message you may not be that interested even though we are. We can say we’ll offer you some lower fee, which the other club might be grateful to receive as they thought we weren’t interested to begin with.

Or maybe Moyes didn’t think he had enough PL experience to start every match and didn’t want to expose him or risk injury.

Or…maybe Harrison was translating wrong and that’s how Charly kept getting played out of position and not catching the eye of Moyes.
