I am not saying Alcarez is the answer though I would want to see us play him through the middle to see what he can do.

quality in that role is needed to be a proper challenger. A workhorse has a ceiling

I used to think Moyes wasn’t staring Charly because of the clause about the number of starts. I still rate Alcaraz. But he might not be as great as I had once thought. Maybe he is a solid late match sub.

However, he's not all that. His decision making - what makes No.10s - is not great.

Hardly fair to judge him on 15 min at home to City… none of our other attacking players did a single thing. He looks a good player but hard to get a rhythm going when being dropped for no reason + being moved around positions
