When considering signing Alcaraz we have to ignore this season and focus on what he may be able to contribute in future seasons.

Probably close to half the squad will leave this summer and clearly as many players(or close to it) will replace them.
The fee for Alcaraz seems modest and certainly would appear to be good value at that price.
However, he does not seem to be a player who can play or wants to play in multiple roles and that may count against him.

Very much so. A bit like when we signed Arteta. I think folk could see he'd got talent during his initial loan, but perhaps didn't totally convince.

Does this kid have the same potential to develop and play a huge role at Everton?

i guess even if moyes is convinced he should still play the next few games

then he builds towards the buy option

if moyes doesnt fancy him then hes dropped for last few games

rather than if he doesnt fancy him now, doenst play him, then he comes off the bench and makes a huge impact and sways the opinion , but its too late to trigger the clause

it would be good to know if the option to buy is still available if we don’t trigger the starts clause, or if its the starts clause only

Who's making decisions at the club? Moyes or the recruitment team? Are we still in a situation where it's chaos and disorder behind the scenes regarding responsibility?

It’s rumoured if he starts 6 games or more then the clause is activated.

Based on his performances so far and us being pretty much safe, I can only see this as a psychological thing for the player by Moyes.

He’s pretty much first off the bench if he doesn’t start. I think Moyes likes him he’s just managing his game time to ensure Charly doesn’t take his foot off the gas.

He’s started 4 of his 8 appearances.

If there are those sorts of doubts about his motivation after 8 appearances then it's a bad signing.

I'll take my views back if this is a motivational technique that ends up working.

I'd be shocked if a motivator is dropping a player or using them out of position...especially with the likes of Doucoure & Harrison starting.
