What are your favourite memories playing championship manager?

Some of mine would be Chris Bart-Williams scoring 69 goals in a season for me at Man United.

An epic 20-odd season game where I took over Everton and Plymouth. I won the league every season with Everton and got Plymouth to the prem. The last 10 or so seasons would be Everton winning the league with Plymouth runners up. I made sure Everton won the title deciders and any cup finals. I had a regen called Stuart Cottee who scored 30-40 goals a season. Multiple European Cup winner with Everton and UEFA Cup winner with Plymouth.

Using the editor to create myself as a player with 20 ratings on every attribute and able to play every position. I was a total footballing God. Everton, England and Juventus legend who retired to manage Sheffield Wednesday.

Taking over a club that wouldn't sell me a player I wanted and letting him go for a pittance, sometimes relentlessly fining the player to make him keener on the move. Then getting that club to buy some of my deadwood for inflated fees.

Playing Championship Manager Italia which was just boss.

I'm tempted to download one of the older versions for some entertainment during lockdown.
 

Never being able to sign Maldini.

Valeri Bojinov scoring 50 odd goals for us a few seasons on the bounce. I think it was about the 2002/03 version maybe? Got him from Lecce. Superb.
 
Me getting sacked by Birmingham after finishing 10th in the PL the season before and beating United 3-1 on the last day after SAF had publicly belittled me. Ended up going to Spartak Moscow and starting a period of domination previously unseen until I moved to CSKA and bettered that. Had an unbelievable knowledge of Russian football after that
 
Daniel Braaten was a CM legend. I had so high hopes for him in real life, but it never happened. Thought he would be the star player of the Norwegian national team for years
 

Never managed anyone other than Everton me, usually ends up top 6 for a couple seasons then top 4 then you start winning the league and signing everyone’s youth teams

One year recently, think it may have been 18’ I got sacked from Everton for the first time ever and never played the game again lol

In this seasons FM I’m 12 years in and just win the lot every year, named my dog after a regen too lol
 
Mate of mine claimed to have beaten Arsenal 6-1 with Bradford in CM 2000. Ha! more chance of necking with the queen. Never really got into it tbh. Much prefer FIFA. But I remember when I was 16 I stayed up until 4am until I'd won the Euros with England... took me bloody long enough an all. Such a pain loading and re-loading CM numerous times.

The last time before I managed it, Spain equalised at the death and then won on penalties, computer nearly went out the window.
 
Played the very first ones with mark collis killing it as striker.

Best was Cm 01/02 with tonton Zola moukoko, Kennedy bakircioglu and cherno samba tearing the league up - it's free to download now on fmscout - keeping me sane without the match!

Yeah that was a good one. The old 4-3-1-2 formation works like a charm on that one. It looks like a bit of a hassle to download though - is that right?

Belter formation on it that - tonton in the hole! I think I hate siggy so much because of how good Tonton Zola moukoko was in that position!

Not too bad to download mate, some decent you tube vids showing how it's done - I've even managed to get it working on my tablet from one of the vids - the missus isn't happy, bit then I've always been a disappointment!
 
Does anyone remember one of the skins as the match played was at St James Park (Think it was 98 version) and it looked like one of the fans right behind the camera had a big blonde beehive thing going on?

I'm sure your managerial achievements will win her over eventually mate!

Yes if you find someone good to play in the hole in that formation they can post some pretty good stats. Tonton was amazing. IIRC Kennedy Bakircioglu was another good one, but that might have been a different version. Bakayoko was awesome in one version too.
