Championship 2024/25

Don't worry about Brighton, Al...

It'll be second season syndrome for young Fabian.
Mark my words, next season, the lad's going to get bummed all over the show.
I’d like both Brighton and Palace to qualify for Europe (as long as it’s not at our expense obviously). They’ve both still got a chance this season

Back on topic though, can’t wait for the playoffs

I reckon Leeds, Burnley and Coventry will be the three promoted this year. Sheffield Wednesday will be dark horses, whilst Blackburn will do well if they can keep hold of Szmodics.

As for relegation, I'm not too sure. Personally I have a slight feeling that Plymouth will survive again, despite having Rooney in charge. Oxford are possibly in danger of going straight back down and I'm not sure about QPR's chances of survival.

I'd go for:
1. Leeds (P, C)
2. Burnley (P)
3. Luton
4. Sheffield United
5. Coventry (P)
6. Norwich
7. Sheffield Wednesday
8. West Brom
9. Middlesbrough
10. Hull
11. Sunderland
12. Preston
13. Stoke
14. Blackburn
15. Watford
16. Bristol City
17. Millwall
18. Swansea
19. Portsmouth
20. Derby County
21. Plymouth Argyle
22. QPR (R)
23. Cardiff City (R)
24. Oxford United (R)
Looking back:
  • I correctly predicted the top two and the positions in which they would finish.
  • Luton finishing in the playoffs was a terrible call, but I am delighted to see them relegated to League 1 after what their chairman said last season; I also cannot stand their fans. I shouldn't wish relegation on anyone, but it is hard not to with them.
  • Sheffield United and Coventry in the playoffs were good shouts, but I whilst I did envisage Coventry qualifying, I never expected it to be with Lampard as manager rather than long-serving Mark Robbins.
  • Bristol City were a bit of a surprise package. I have seen them described as "England's most boring football club" which was perhaps a fair tag until recently - this influenced my thinking at the start of the season, as they just seemed stagnant.
  • Plymouth nearly survived and I thought I would put them down as a wildcard to survive. However, after appointing Rooney, that always looked like an uphill battle.
I look forward to the playoffs and then making some attempt to predict next season's table!
