Champions league draw

I only care about United winning #19 and that draw is a poor one from that pov. They'll get all the way to the final and also the FA Cup final and will find it hard competing against Arsenal in the league.

A very good draw for Arsenal this. :(

I would take no 19 now Dave

It'd be great to see a treble or Premier League/CL double mate, but I think something has to give. I just hope United dont end up falling between two stools.

Thats my worry mate

To be honest I just love the full on premier league its better to watch than the Champions league

No 19 and beat City in the FA semi would more than do me

Spurs will get mauled big time. Jose will do em

No-one thought Tottenham Hotspur had a chance of even getting a Top Four Premier League place last season.

Then all the experts wrote us off, saying we'd "Do an Everton" and not get past the Play-Off stage.

After that, no-one gave us a ghost of a chance against the reigning European & Italian Champions Inter Milan, the current Dutch Champions FC Twente and a very experienced German outfit Werder Bremen.

Having not only failed to be 'humiliated' in the Group Stage but actually go and win the damn thing (and set a new Champions League goalscoring record in the process), Spurs were given no hope against the current Italian League leaders AC Milan in the Round of 16.

Yet here we are in the Quarter Finals with Real Madrid coming up and once again no-one thinking we've got a ghost of a chance to progress to the Semi-Finals.

I have been pondering on whether to throw a few quid on Spurs for it, before the Milan game too, I said that you would put them out.

Madrid and probably Barca are two big tests though mate, if you did put them both out then I couldn't think of a more worthy winner.

I do wish, however, to point out that it will not stop me disliking greatly your bubble gum faced hank of a manager.

Uefa will see to it that there's a Barca - Real semi final.

The Champions league is not a sporting competition.

It's all about revenue.

I'm trying to find something wrong with the above quote but am failing miserably.

I wouldn't count Spurs out either.

Spurs don't stand a chance.

The italians are old and out of pace.

Madrid is nothing like it. They have ability, they have experience, they have pace and they have Mourinho and Ronaldo...

I share your concerns.

They look tired and the squad isn't all that big.

I did to be honest. You've spent a lot of money over the years and it was only a matter of time with the right manager for things to fall into place.

Then all the experts wrote us off, saying we'd "Do an Everton" and not get past the Play-Off stage.

Which almost happened.

Inter were struggling...and if it wasnt for Maicon losing it and letting Bale mug them off, that game was very embarressing. Werder Bremen and FC Twente arent very good teams.

Having not only failed to be 'humiliated' in the Group Stage but actually go and win the damn thing (and set a new Champions League goalscoring record in the process), Spurs were given no hope against the current Italian League leaders AC Milan in the Round of 16.

AC Milan are very, very slow. Clever and experienced, but full of overrated players IMO and minus Robiniho are lacking pace. Although...Spurs played it well and very cautious ie defended well and nicked it in Milan.

Yet here we are in the Quarter Finals with Real Madrid coming up and once again no-one thinking we've got a ghost of a chance to progress to the Semi-Finals.

I'd be over the moon to be playing Real Madrid...but I think the press and everyone else are trying to create a fairy tale and forgetting that its Real "Jose, Ronaldo, Di Maria, Alonso, Benzema" Madrid and Jose has won this comp twice.

Please not that "doing an Everton" meant losing (contraversially) to Villarreal. The same Villarreal side who but for a last minute Riquelme penalty miss were in the Champion's League Final.

Losing to Young Boys Berne can not really be compared to this..
