I thought Howard did better yesterday but that mad rush out of goal just after we scored is exactly why the defence don't trust him. He's been dodgy for a year and a half now. I've given up on him ever getting back in form, tbh.

And yeah it goes without saying that we really miss Gibson. Osman is too lightweight to be much use defensively and neither Hitz nor Neville covers enough ground to provide adequate protection.

Actually, I don't think playing Duffy would be the worst idea in the world. Tall, fast and seems to score a hatful from set pieces.

Might be worth a shot for Norwich.

SPOT ON - Dufy played fives games in a crisis last season -I had him as MOTM in at least 2 games - DM dropped him - the Cattrick scheme was to use youngsters not favourites! he would never have done that!

Duffy did not to be dropped then & the way we can not win a header at the back teams are sussing us out as per yesterday just one cross in & we have no leader there!

I'm hoping that Duffy will get at least a couple games as the schedule picks up soon...then maybe he'll convince Moyes that he's ready to have a run next to jags. Or am I being too optimistic? Haha

Why are so many people so blind to Coleman's abundantly apparent defensive inadequacies? Our defence has just got even worse since he got in the team, and he really isn't any great shakes going forward.

I don't particularly rate Hibbert, but I'd have him back in over Coleman any day.

Some players get given far too much stick, and then for some reason there are other players who don't get anywhere near as much criticism when it is warranted. I can see it now, Coleman will be afforded all the excuses in the world, we will still be getting told that he is young and inexperienced when he is 28.

Utd and city have been equally as leaky at the back this season.... Difference being the guys at the top end are doing there job. Unfortunately ours ain't. Well not consistantly anyway.

We bag more of the millions of chances were creating and the defense is more settled and not as much of a problem.

For the record for me it would be jags and Distin.

It hasnt really got worse because of Coleman. Dont get me wrong though Coleman has made some shocking mistakes.

Everyone goes on about our poor starts to seasons, I dont agree with that as such, its our defence that has poor starts. Its just that this year we have good attacking options to cover the defensive deficencies.

Every single season our defence starts like a bunch of knobheads. It seems to take them until january to get going. I dont know if its because Moyes tries to give the three CBs all playing time as opposed to picking a settled back four.

surprised no-ones mentioned 3 at the back, everyones doing it these dayz...[/QUOTE ) Not a bad shout but how do you impliment it? Baines / coleman wing backs is a given. Jags central , JH right centre and SD left centre. Centre midield of gibbo and felli with peanuts and amd kev and jelly up top. With felli and gibbo sitting , peanuts can play further forward behind jelly and kev. Looks attacking and solid in midfield.Looks good on paper but any injurys and system falls apart as there is no replacement for seumas. Hibbo and neville not wing backs , oviedo could cover for baines but not as good.

Heitinga only became gash because Moyes stopped playing him. Now every time he gets a game he has to go through that warm up period of matches that players need to get up to speed. He never got that run of games and so he's stuck in a vicious circle and his confidence is probably shot.

You don't go from being voted our player of the season and then gash overnight. Moyes should have played him from the start of the season.
