And Leicester the year they won the leagueI thought Burnley made a good job of it last season.
It’s 11vs 11
Against 2 strikers one of the opposition 5 in midfield has to drop deeper

Gueye is not dissimilar to Reidy in some ways.

Yes and put Peter Reid near the top of the list.Add Reid and Bracewell to that list too.
Just as a bit of interest, The Irish Independent newspaper is reporting that James McCarthy could be ready to play for Southern Ireland in the next international break at the end of this month.
Excellent analysisYeah Leicester had a player who could distribute the ball forward quickly to attacking players and one player who could win it back quickly (did help he was probably the best midfielder in the world). Our problem for too long is that we have players who only do half a role well or a bit of everything averagely. Gueye can press a bit (when he’s bothered) but not much else, Barry could pass it but was virtually useless off the ball, Schneiderlin is just poor at everything, Davies (although has room to grow) is just ok at everything, for McCarthy see Gueye, for Siggurdson see Barry. Top midfielders can do the lot allowing teams to use less men int hit midfield area. We have to build our attacks around the full backs and have our front three dropping in all the time just because our midfield is so poor. We could never play a two in there with our current options. If you have Kante Matic though or Fernandinho De Bruyne then you can do it no problem.
Gana is not the answer for a side looking for top 4Even more reason to go for Loftus-Cheek if he doesn't work his way into a full time role at Chelsea
Him and Gana in the middle is the answer IMO
I can’t see this, especially with silva talking about how the number 6 role is so important moving forward. And this doesn’t suit gana.Even more reason to go for Loftus-Cheek if he doesn't work his way into a full time role at Chelsea

If he thought gana could do that role why does he keep picking Schneiderlin.

Does what he does well but his vision , passing and running with the ball are not at the required level
He is adequate for where we are now but to progress we need to find the next Kante Fernandinho, Matic or Jorginho
That’s why we hired Brands
I’m sure him and Silva will evaluate the squad over time and see what’s required
Looks like Silva prefers a passer + destroyer/runner + creator midfield combination.I can’t see this, especially with silva talking about how the number 6 role is so important moving forward. And this doesn’t suit gana.

I didn’t say he wouldn’t be in team. I don’t think he will be next season though. He'll be back in the side once he's fit again
Gana still (And I think will) improve the longer he works with Silva
He plays such an important role in the side and he does it very well
Pair him up with a box to box player like RLC and we'd have the perfect midfield IMO
The thing is though, when everyone is fit will we stick with 4-2-3-1? im not sure myself. Silva's prefered option is 4-3-3. I don't see Gylfi getting in that team for starters, and in midfield i think it will be Sneiderlin/Davis, Gomes, Gana. Knowing us though the chances of everyone being fit at the same time are pretty slim. He'll be back in the side once he's fit again
