I didn’t say he wouldn’t be in team. I don’t think he will be next season though.
But why isn’t he playing gana & Davies. Or let’s see if he plays gana & Gomes. Gana isn’t good enough to play the 6 role, in front of the back 4.

He's tried Gana and Davies, then Gana got hurt

I'm confident Gana will still be in the mix next season

He's being talked down a lot here but if you pay close attention to our games then you see how much he does for the team and how good a player he truly is

The problem is that he isn't flashy, so he doesn't get the credit he deserves

He plays such an important role in the side and he does it very well

Pair him up with a box to box player like RLC and we'd have the perfect midfield IMO

I agree he will improve under Silva
But some of his deficiencies cannot be coached
His passing , his vision and running with the ball are not at the required level for a top 4 chasing side
I like Gana and I think he excels at what he does but he hasn’t got enough in his locker to match Fernandinho, Matic , Kante Jorghino Etc
Henderson is supposed to do this for the RS but doesn’t do it very well

It's always harder for a more defensive player to win plaudits as they tend to do the less impressive and rougher stuff for the team. The likes of a Gana sacrifice the limelight to do the unfashionable stuff that needs doing

It's why we live in a world where Kante hasn't won a Ballon d'or

I think you're wrong

He's going to improve

Defensive players peak at different times and generally get better with experience

The only issues he could have would be getting a really gnarly injury or not staying on top of his fitness

You don’t seem to understand, that gana can’t play 6. And isn’t good enough if we are serious about challenging to play the box to box 8 role. The guy offers nothing in the final 3rd. Also he’s very average technically and when we come under pressure IE Bournemouth we can’t control the game and see a game out
In the last 15 minuets at Bournemouth he was giving the ball away, poor clearances from our box going straight back to them.

He’s not the only culprit, but there’s a reason why we always concede, when we come under pressure.

If Silva wants to play a back three he will need 2 more CBs
Having only 4 CBs and playing a back 3 is a recipe for disaster
