I'd rather be a janitor at Buckingham Palace and given only a toothbrush to clean the whole gaff from top to bottom than a striker for Everton Football Club.
In no sense was Tosun playing for any kind of footballing aristocracy at Besiktas if that’s what you’re attempting to imply.

The janitor comparison is in itself apt for him though.

Clearly a very talented football but he has to work harder and chase the ball. If he he had dcl or niasse’s Work rate then we would have a serious striker.

A couple of times the ball was loose near him and he didn’t move. He jogged the whole time but he is clearly very good.

He's made absolutely no impact on our season, not his fault at all, but Fat Sam and Walsh should not have been given any more money to waste.

There's no definitely about it. We seem to say it'll take time about every single one of our signings to gloss over the fact they're not playing very well. £27m on a striker not ready for the league. Sums us up.

That's if you care to believe a joke of a manager trying to deflect his terrible tactics and team selections. This kid is ready for the premiereship, he is not ready to play in a garbage team with one of the worst tactical managers of our clubs history.

Easy to jump on a bandwagon about a player that has not been given a chance yet. Care to list some strikers you think could turn everton's season around ATM(money no object)

Walsh must have watched the Besiktas games with the telly on fast forward cause this guy is a joke. He can barely move let alone show pace. Completely the wrong player to lead a line when isolated and stretch a defence.

176 minutes and you’ve completely written him off Tim, with Spurs and Arsenal away being about half of his pitch time....

Funny as.

I can watch a player and within seconds know if they are good or not. I took 0.02 seconds and knew that this guy supposedly scoring CL goals is gash and not fit for the championship

Nah not writing him off as a footballer. In fact in the right system he'll do well, that being a system which can accommdate a penalty box striker where loads of other players around do the leg work.

The problem is that he is the completely wrong option for a deep lying hoofball system that is over reliant on an athletic channel running striker to both hold the ball and stretch the defence. I think Calvert-Lewin is the best striker suited to the system, albeit he is definitely not the best striker we have. Tosun may well be the best striker we have but is not suited at all to the archaic tactics.

Absolutely spot on. Funny how two Chelsea rejects have been the two best players in the league this year, one of them in his debut season for his new club. God forbid one of our signings actually hit the ground running.

Furthermore surely if you’re worried about a player adapting to this league it should be taken into account when you’re pursuing the signing? Worst still this “bedding in” period (see excuse) is something people have tried to offer players like Keane and Sigurdsson! Our “premier league proven” signings. Instead of offering these players excuses let’s just call a spade a a spade otherwise we’ll never learn.
