Besiktas eliminated Liverpool from Europa League couple of years ago, where they beat Tottenham at home and got a draw where they crushed Tottenham in London. Same year, 0-0 at home with Arsenal and lost 1-0 away at Champions League play off.

I like how every team in Turkish League is equal in your eyes. Porto plays a more crap league than Turkey's but sold too many good players to every other team in Europe. So quit your bullshit, having some crap teams in the league does not make every team in that league crap. I don't think any team below 8th in Premier League could do much in Europe as well.

Interesting point you’ve raised there. Portugal have indeed had plenty of decent exports as have Holland and France. Many of the best player ever have come from those 3 ‘weaker’ leagues. Much weaker than turkey according to you in fact.

Yet all that ever comes out of Turkey is poor players.

Can't say France and Holland is much weaker but Portugal definetely is.

Sample size is too big for Holland and France case, you could also see the negative examples like Huntelaar and Lacazette and many others. Turkey is only starting to get there in terms of raising quality players and though past experiences might lead you to some point, it does not automatically prove that any player coming out of Turkey will be crap immediately. See Cengiz Under born and raised in Turkey playing at Roma, scored 2 and made 1 assist last game in Serie A.

Yes thanks for the answers mate, those being that he looked alright for half a season for Beskitas in a YouTube compilation, tremendous stuff.

So from what I can see so far the Turkish fans have confirmed he has played second fiddle a lot because every season they sign someone else to play in his position and he's a really nice guy, if I'm not mistaken that's about it?

I'm afraid I can't field any further responses from Turkish fans as they've shown themselves up horribly here.
In turkey, everyone is very hard on turkish players. If a foreigner had a chance to make 5 mistakes to be critisized, a turk got only 1. Media, supporters of the club, directors of the club, etc, everyone is in love with foreigners and cenk was the only stiker in team. every year besiktas made 1 stiker transfer and every year it went great even if cenk performance was great too. mario gomez scored 28 goals, demba ba scored like 18 but he was the muslim idol for the supporters,we wrote songs about him, aboubakar was the second striker but he scored amazing goals too. but cenk managed to stick with his discipline and continue to develop his skills and score in that times. so I find "he is not working much in training" rumours rubbish. and besiktas always had 2 stikers changing in the squad. before its cenk-aboubakar then cenk-negredo and now negredo-vagner love.

Arouna kone and Ryan Babel are star players in Turkey.

They get a home advantage due to their mental fan bases but don’t pretend that the standard is any good.
you know so much about turkish league do u make ur PhD on it? Did you watch any games besiktas playing? Nearly every team in turkish league goes extreme hardcore defence against besiktas last 3 years. Kone plays in a shitty team and of course he scores well because the team scores so less and every attack is based on kone. Babel was in the bottom of his career when we got him and he worked amazingly with the right manager and he borned from his ashes. Watch him in CL and Europa league too. Besiktas made shine many lost players because of the manager senol gunes.
You just use your toxicity on turkey being a 3rd world country on football but that's not true as you think it is and your ignorance means nothing.

Honestly I don't think the nationality of players and in which league they have played prior to moving to the premier league is any reason for players making it (or not) in the premier league. I think it is much more important if they fit into the team and can adapt to team tactics.
And from what I have seen so far, the premier league is not good. I think the first time I realized it was when watched Arsenal playing against FC Bayern. I am a Dortmund fan I was desperately hoping that Arsenal would crash them :) ... but you all probably know how it ended ... I didn't even watch the whole game because it was so frustrating.

I am also following Aubameyang and how he is being integrated into the Arsenal team. His first two appearances were not good at all but they played him unitl the end anyway ... I wish Everton would have done it with cenk tosun.

I haven't watched a single game of Besiktas and cenk tosun in the turkish league, but I have seen him play for years for the national team and I think the scouting that Everton has done is good and that he is exactly the right kind of player to strengthen Everton. He doesn't have pace like Aubameyang, but as a Dortmund fan I can tell you Aubameyang wouldn't fit to Everton at all ... you don't have players like Dembele, Pulisic or Özil who can assist ... Does Everton have any player who is good in assisting ?

It would be really nice if you could loan him back to Besiktas at least for one game against FC Bayern (since hes not "fit" he might get fitter by playing against Bayern, right ? :)

Anyway, I am afraid FC Bayern will crash Besiktas as well. But who knows ...

Turkish people sometimes remind me of the Minions ...

Nothing to see here on this thread. Cenk is being kept out of the team by a player who is impossible to drop at this time. My view on cenk is that he looks a decent striker in an attack minded team. makes you wonder why he joined us to play alone up front with the rest of his teammates in our own half. The super liga while being know where near as strong as the premiere league.i personally think besiktas would take our pants down at the minute, so i'm not sure why the club is getting run down on here.

Everyone knows you’ll get smashed out of sight by Bayern you clown.

EPL is poor is it?

‘Just’ 4 teams still in champions league with Man City big favourites to win it. Europa league has Arsenal as second favourites. Man Utd the current champions.

You and the likes of you have come on this thread and have vastly over rated the Turkish league and Cenk Tosun. It’s completely unhelpful in making realistic analysis with regards the player.

News Flash!

Just in off the wires.

Crap football team, signed footballer from crap league, turns out he's crap.

Boos from the Gwladys Street are heard all around the world, from Tokyo to Easter Island.

Well yeah I realise there are likely multis involved but that’s not the point.

You don’t have a clue, you’ve made misleading statements about Turkish football and Cenk Tosun and have gone on to attempt to insult us by saying the epl is somehow a dodgy league - which no one will pay attention to as they can see the number and quality of English teams still in European competition this year.

5 English teams still in the CL Kev.
