Confirmed Signing Cenk Tosun

We used to have a sell to loan policy. The windows of selling first team stars and getting Stracqualursi on loan were not that long ago. Now we’re paying big money for international strikers from CL clubs and the default response is ‘waste of money, not good enough, embarassing and desperate chucking money about’.

Who exactly do you want us to buy? Anyone British would be written off immediately as ‘Fat Sam couldn’t look past the prem etc.’. Any youngunknown would be ‘Everton doing it on the cheap when everyone else is spending, need a player for now not the future’. If we went for a top player ‘phantom bid, won’t happen’.

So we target a player in his prime, experienced at the top level, wants to play for us and we can actually get him and people are still fuming.

£27m on a 26 year old, playing on a dominant, ultra-attacking team in a poor quality retirement league.

What could possibly go wrong?

I hope the lad is quality but this transfer just seems to be us repeating the mistakes of all the other transfer windows. Decent amounts of money being wasted on average players who aren't improving us.

I am afraid this is how I see it. You just know that none of the top 6 would even give this guy an eyebrow.

We have spunked 100mil, that could have been used to buy great players on absolute dross.

So close to making the step up and yet have gone backwards.

Besiktas fans are genuinely sad to see him go and seem to think he is too good for us. This is good, however I read Lokomotiv fans saying Niasse would be a top 10 striker in the world so I'll take it with a pinch of salt.

Get him in tomorrow. he could be completely clueless and be better than what we've got.

I do think he has his limitations, but he's a good CF that is strong and I think can hold the ball in the EPL. What I really like about him is that he can score from 25 yards out really well. He can come back pretty far and still offer some threat.

A Jelavic like start would be lovely. Now go find a friggin LB please.
He can score from 25 yards that will be a welcome sight from one of our strikers, I don't think illl miss DCL pea roller attempts, DCL is suppose to be a striker I don't think I've ever seen him hit a ball hard, I really do hope Tosun is the strikers we have been crying out for.

What's all this horseshit I keep reading about Cenk will get no good ball from the Everton?

Siguardsson and Rooney have been crying out for a proper striker to work with, Bolaise has a good assist rate, Cenk will get plenty of chances.

Agree or not, we've played half a season without a striker if you ask me, because Niasse and DCL are not good enough to do that job fulltime week in week out.

This signing will transform our attack.

Liverpool got Mane, Salah, Coutinho and Firmino for less than we paid for Bolasie, Sigurdsson, Klaassen and Tosun... No one could possibly deny this money could and probably should have been spent better.

Should thrive against the non top 6 teams then. Equally as poor as teams in the mickey mouse leagues all over the world.

I've no doubt he'll score goals in a team that creates a lot of chances. However our chronic lack of creativity is just as much a problem as our lack of a goalscorer and hopefully that will be addressed next, with a passing midfielder and an attacking left back.

Good signing but we really need a creative attacking player to pair with him if he's going to do the business. Our attacking prowess from midfield is still pretty non existent.

If Niasse played for city he would be get loads of goals and he would be rated one of the best in the world, it's all about supply. But even with supply I'm not sure DCL would get many, he just doesn't look like a goal scorer to me.

Tosun hasn’t kicked a ball yet. Yes Liverpool have recruited better than us recently but it wasn’t that long ago they were wasting money and we had the savvy recruitment. All that’s happened is Koeman was rubbish with money and Klopp is buying well. There’s no indicator that Allardyce will be as poor a judge of player as Koeman yet.

Koeman begged the board for Siggurdson whilst Klaassen was clearly his buy. Walsh is on a knife edge currently but we don’t know how much influence he had.
