I'm confident that this will happen, even if many on here are showing doubt and negatively about the signing and the player himself. From what I've seen he deserves the chance to step up and prove what he can do and when he gets here I will be 100% behind him, Sam, our team and any other signings we complete.
Chelsea were very interested in this guy in the summer and a number of clubs ( not just premier league), are interested now. That shows he is respected in decent circles at the very least. We apparently aren't the highest bidders either so maybe he's shown initial commitment which I'm all for, by choosing to come to us.
The options in our current state are both extremely limited and costly. One attribute that this lad has that I don't see in many potential signings is an exceptional work ethos, if he can translate that to our team, along with his obvious skillset he already has, we will have signed a very good player.
Let's get off his back before he's even signed and hope it happens

What is a message board? Ha this is exactly why we all are here. To regurgitate the stories and discuss or vent. Im was discussing the topic. You are discussing my interaction or lack of interactions with negations and my need to chill.

Respectfully, Its my opinion.
I'd disagree.
Good debating involves perspective and, wherever possible, a degree of context and factual accuracy.

Your opinion is based on the value of the player and the money we are paying for him which, according to the media, is escalating.

But you don't know whether it's all rubbish or not. Have an opinion on the player, debate it until the early hours, but to speculate about where this guy is on our list or what the negotiations have been is just odd.

You don't know and it doesn't matter. And there are plenty of other things you do know which could be debated. Like whether he's fit in, whether he'll acclimatise, whether we need more foreign risks, whether he needs a foil or can play up top on his own. Etc. Etc.

But nah, let's concentrate on media rubbish written for entertainment purposes rather than factual accuracy.

Each to their own.

I hope when the clock strikes 12 tonight, fireworks in the image of his face are released into the Walton night from the top of the park end.

...as with all signings, the Manager needs to bring in the players he wants in order to fit the playing strategy he wants. The manager is accountable, if the purchases fail he fails. Just ask Koeman.

Have we ever bought a player, that made his debut at the pit ?

Reports are that Allardyce has apparently enquired about him before so hopefully it's not a rash decisions but rather someone he thinks can fit.

Still, as others have mentioned, the signing doesn't fill me with too much optimism for numerous reasons but hopefully he thrives in his role.
