Rodgers has never won a knock-out tie in either europa or CL for Liverpool or Celtic. He has a really horrible european record.

I'm actually quite intressted to see how he does with Leicester City there if they qualify next season, as they do have a very nice squad,so I am interesting to see if he has learnt any lessons! I watched a few Celtic games in Europe last couple years because they played Bundesliga teams in group stages and he ws a very naive coach in Europe who never seemed to be willing or able to change how his team played.

Vardy is another year older, hes not gonna bang in 20+ the next few seasons and as we have learned getting a 20 goal a season striker isnt easy,.

Maddison looks decent but is very hit and miss, same as Gray

Maguire is off id be surprised if they keep Chilwell for long if he carries on as he is.

basically what im saying is on paper they look decent but think it will crumble and he doesn't have the know how to sort it.
 
My mates, daughters boyfriend has just signed for the hoops from Bolton - Luca Connell ( 18yrs)

We released him when he was 12 and he went to Bolton.

Allegedly on 25k a week.

They must rate him, as that`s one hell of a lot of money for Celtic to be shelling out per week for an 18yr old.

He`s a defensive mid, supposed to be very combative, with a big engine.

Lots if interest from England ( apparently ) - hence why Celtic moved quickly.

It`s a hell of a lot for Celtic ( if true ) to pay a lad who`s played less than a dozen games for Bolton.

My guess, is that they`ll be looking to sell him on at a big profit at some point.

Sounds like he's the David Turnbull alternative. That lads going to be gutted
 
Having looked at the some of the teams in CL Tue / Wed ties...and I know the rules are the rules etc, my first thought is there are 30 total no marks...and my second though is...if there are 30 no marks, where does that leave us.

Ans; not good enough and having a lot to do?

Maddison is a real talent, sure, maybe needs consistancy but you can level that at a lot of players his position and a lot of players his age. I am not sure losing Magure is a big problem, as he may be a bit slow to suit Rogers style anyway, United may be doing them a favour if they pay a massive fee.

Their full backs are excellent, not many better pairs in the PL. Their midfield 3 of Ndidi, Madisson and Tielemans is very good too, again, maybe the best outside the top 6, actually I'd have it ahead of Arsenal's midfield easily, probably Man Utd if Pogba gets his wish and leaves and they replace him poorly.

But yes , they need to get better depth up front. Perez is a nice signing though.

But all in all, outside the top 6 as it currently stands, I think they are probably the best squad, yourselves and Wolves with them too.

There is though a question mark on how Rogers can build a squad, as he was notoriously poor at it in the past. So I agree there, if they lose key players, replacing them well will be the big task.

Anyway, better not sully the Celtic thread with talk of their now hated ex coach's new team!!!

High hopes for Luca, hes been in with the ROI senior team already.
