The 27-year-old’s loan from Red Star Belgrade to Goodison Park is about to end, and he has been offered the chance to join Spanish side Almeria on a long-term contract.

David Moyes’ side have first option to secure the Ecuadorian’s services on a permanent deal and, as a consequence, his future is out of his own hands.

“Almeria have been interested ever since last year,” Castillo told El Mundo.

“They wanted me for the last six months of the season, and today they are offering me a longer deal.

“We will see if we can find a good agreement with them.”

His calfs are bigger than than James 'The Meat Locker' Beatties's head. So for that reason i share his pain. Could be a decent squad player, but would not like to pay anything over £751,000 for him.

If you've gotta go, you've gotta go.

Good luck to him. Thought with a bit more match time may well have fitted in as a good squad player.

I think he is worth the money however we don't have the money and we have more pressing needs.

Would probably have been a decent signing 3 or 4 years ago (remeber that season we struggled when Carsley was injured) but doesn't improve the quality of the current squad, so no deal!

Good luck to him.

The pace of the spanish game should suit him, the demands of the premiership were always too much for him in my opinion.

Good luck Thunder Thighs.
I don't think I've ever seen such a snug fit in shorts since the 1980's!

I really liked the guy, always smiling and the lads seemed to like him too.
Ah well, bon voyage and may your goals never be against us.

he didnt set the premiership alight and didnt make much of an impact , but i like castillo even if he is only a fringe player.

i mean he has had to deal with a lot. new club , new country , new language.

i would be quite happy to have him stay as back up as i expect him to be a lot more settled next season.

hes a darn sight more worthwhile than players we have had like for instance da silva.

Theres a player there you can see it but unfortunately we dont have the funds required to take a punt and spend time to develop him to the English game, bit like Fernandes really.

I really liked his attitude the whole time he was here, seemed a really god pro and lad.

Good luck Thunder Thighs.

Eastern Suburbs. Kids look like they've been to a Miami Vice convention. Tight french striped polo shirts with white moccasins and super tight creamy shorts; sweaters tied around the shoulders, aviator sunnies and bouffant Hugh Grant hair.

I had to back over the bridge before I caught their 80's affliction.
