Thanks boss.

So, in the market for a new car here, a crossover to be more specific. I've set my mind on a (second hand) Qashqai, but decided to go and test the ones I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off budget for, namely - Mazda CX-5... and what a gorgeous machine it is! Practically fell in love with it, but shame it's so expensive.

My question is - anyone here have any experience/opinions from the Nissan Qashqai?
The Qashqai is a nail.

Buy a Seat Ateca instead, which is basically a VW Tiguan.

Yes.
Everybody who drives one seems intent on killing me. I can only assume that visibility is dreadful, as I've never seen one bring driven by anybody with any perception of space, or other road users.
Don't get one. I'll only have to hunt you down after the revolution.
Well, I live in Sofia, and if you see what's considered 'normal' here you'll want to commit mass murder so...
Basically every motability car in Liverpool was a qashqai about 3 years ago, horrible looking things but I bet you'd get a decent spec model for a good price due to the fact there are so many of them about.
Aye they're cheap enough. The one(s) I'm looking at is a 2.0L diesel for about 5-6k GBP currently.

If I had the dosh to get the Mazda I'd be driving away in it Saturday after the test drive tbh. Beautiful car.

Didn't realise you weren't in England mate so my post is completely irrelevant.

Hi mate, I am of the opinion also that Quashqai's are like arseholes, basically everybody has one!

I have a Hyundai IX35, my second one. Great value for money with 5 year warranty's.

I picked up a 65 plate for 11 1/2 grand with only 10 1/2 thousand miles on it.

Kia Sportage is nice too but you see so many of them, probably because the 7 year warranty is very good indeed!

The Mazda is very nice as well though ;)

Don't have the money/salary to lease it, sadly.

My company (I work in insurance) is in the same building as Mazda, we work and lease with them (or they lease through us and all that, rather), but I literally can't afford it, despite the good terms on offer... By the time I have enough money I might be able to afford a returned from a lease CX5 and I'm jumping on that instantly if I can! lol

Good shout on the IX35 - which engine?

1.7 mate, it is quite a sensible car, nice interior, nice shape and pleasing on the eye, decent value for money I would say.

Buy an impractical but beautiful car, that's my advice (not that I've ever done this, only buying very practical cars)
I hear ya. Hummer it is!

Tbh my car right now is 'practical' for the city - small and decent mileage, but because it's so old and weak it annoys me, plus compared to newer cars - it's not even that efficient for MPG anymore. At 10L/100km in the city it's basically the same as any 2.2TD engine or worse from any newer car, and not as fast, which is a problem outside the city - my hometown is 350km away (and the sea about 400) so a two way trip takes quite a lot longer unless I want to empty my pockets for petrol by going fast...

I'll probably never buy another GM car, what about a used LC Prado? Or an old Fiat Spider?
